Well, if we gotta be super dense about it. What active statue QBs have won anything with the exception of arguably the best QB of all time?

- Brees hasn’t won anything in years.
- Goff hasn’t won anything.
- Cousins hasn’t won anything.
- Stafford hasn’t won anything.
- Jimmy hasn’t won anything.
- Rapistberger hasn’t won anything in a decade.

I know it’s a hard pill for you to swallow that the NFL changing from what you once loved, especially since your QB is attached to the past standard, but you’re just going to have & live & accept it. Especially with how athletic DLinemen are nowadays. The league is changing, it’s your choice if you want to stay behind & get left in the box or join the rest of us.

Came here for the “dual threat QBs are the future” argument, was not disappointed.

I mean, you can apply this to a lot of stone QBs as well.

A dual-threat QB just won the last SB.

Mahomes is a mobile quarterback. He is able to move around, buy some time, and make throws downfield. He prefers not to run but, can if he has to. His forty time is 4.80 which is a bit slower than Wentz at 4.77 and a bit faster than Goff at 4.82. At 6'3" 229 Lbs, he is strong enough o break a tackle. He runs just enough to help keep in front of the chains. His real strength is making incredible throws on the run.

On a side note
I have thought that Goff should work on his foot speed/quickness. He has shown the ability to throw on the run and buy some time. Once Goff gets going he moves pretty well. The rollouts have been working well for him and the Rams.

If a QB must run to be a top QB in "today's NFL"...

Then isnt it safe to assume that player needs to be equally capable from the pocket or they will have a shorter career... become disposable like running backs?

Once the legs go, the appeal of that player drops.

If that’s the case, I see Lamar Jackson a bit at risk for this. Not sure his game is the same without the running threat.

We can continue to have this conversation if you'll stop moving the goalposts from my initial post that you quoted, and now telling me what i once loved and why i'm not on board with the modern game. K?

Listen, i'll be the first guy to post in here when the QB model has undergone a full makeover. It hasn't yet, unless mega hype and short careers is the goal.

Your initial post was basically only inserting “dual-threat” QBs into a box, when, in reality, that applies to these young stone QBs as well, but because you’re not a fan of the now QB model & after I gave you of what the young QB model are nowadays, you shifted the goalpost entirely & criticized their lack of accomplishments despite most not even being in the league for 5 years.

This isn’t a future makeover. The makeover has already began.

- Brees hasn’t won anything in years.
That's because he's old as shit years after winning things. Long career.

- Goff hasn’t won anything.
Well yes and no. He's got a lot to do and prove still but he was impressive in that NFCC gm. Of course, the hype is nonexistent for Goff so i'm not sure why you mentioned him.

- Cousins hasn’t won anything.
True, but where's the hype for this guy? There is none. Big pay days don't equal hype.

- Stafford hasn’t won anything.
True. Again...no hype. Long career.

- Jimmy hasn’t won anything.
I guess so. IMO the hype for Jimmy G has been a little too loud thus far in his career but seems to have died down after 2019.

- Rapistberger hasn’t won anything in a decade.
That's because he's also old as shit years after winning things. Long career too.

You've clearly missed the point of my original post and the dual threat 7 step program. Instant hype(which to be fair, they can't be blamed for), lack of hardware and no longevity.

Do you see Lamar Jackson even being relevant 10 years from now? Maybe, but i think not. I'd be willing to bet that guys like Goff, Cousins, Garappolo, and other young guys the same age as Lamar will still be playing and probably starting because they can still navigate a pocket and still take a sack without getting busted up.

No it doesn't. All these stone QB's you mentioned have long careers and are winning playoff games and Super Bowls.

No, I understood your point, I just found it rather ridiculous as to why the tide isn’t turning.

Yea, I see Lamar still being relevant. Do you realize Lamar has yet to suffer an injury in his football career dating back to High School? You can’t say that about most QBs like Cousins, Jimmy, & Goff. Personally, I don’t see any of those 3 QBs starting, at least on their own teams, 5 years from now due to lack of ceiling, especially if the supporting cast around them isn’t loaded.

This. Mahomes is the modern John Elway. As close to Elway as anyone's come at least. Difference with Elway is he almost single-handedly brought some iffy teams into the Super Bowl early on.

DVontel never misses a chance to get into pluggin his boy though. So gonna go back to watching him find a way to steer conversation into worshipping Kyler Murray in a Cam Newton thread.

Young QB's like Brees, Roesthlisberger, Stafford etc? Those are some of the stone guys you brought into this conversation.
Yikes. I've gotta move on from this my friend. Cheers.

Pluggin? Where in this thread have I mentioned the words “Kyler” or “Murray”?

You gotta make sense of what you’re going to stir, man.

Yeah but you come over here talking stuff that really isn’t true, or we have completely different opinions on just what defines a “dual threat” QB

Goff btw is not a stone...you would think you’d be an authority on that topic with your recent QBs :ROFLMAO:

Even though the media is predictably slobbering over Kyler, I’d take Goff 7 days a week and twice on Sunday over your Flutie size phenom...:beer2:
