Great post! I liked Allen because of his wrestling background which requires strength and leverage and because I thought he was tough.
It was Allen who used his wrestling techniques to throw his defender left, rolling up on the back of 'Boom's leg & put him on the IR.
Glad he's worked hard on his C techniques & became what we needed him to be. Glad he's a Ram today.

Momento, as someone who has eaten a lot of crow, just marinate it overnight then roast it basting with garlic lemon butter. Don't over do it because it gets chewy and tough. Eating crow isn't bad, if you prep it right. The price of keeping a much younger GF happy.

Jeez, Old, you must be losing it; my name is clearly Memento. With an “e”, not an “o.”

Nah, I’ll eat my crow fried until my doctor says, “You will fucking die with one more piece of fried food!” Just saying.

The details on Brian Allen's contract are posted on Spotrac. Will assume accurate for now.

Not quite as reported. It's three years / $18M, with a 2022 cap-hit of just $1.8M.

Noteboom's deal also carries a relatively small 2022 cap-hit of just $3.5M.

Both contracts reflect a huge increases for 2023. Allen goes up to $6.8M, and Noteboom rises to $15.5M. And both deals have incentives that can increase the contract-values.

Go look at the video, that’s not true.

On Rams Revealed with J.B. Long new Offensive Coordinator Liam Coen could not bestow enough compliments on Brian Allen. He spoke about what an asset Allen is for Stafford, knowing the offense and making all the proper calls. Again proving that against all odds, players can turn things around and I for one am sure glad the Rams kept Allen.

Life does learn us some things......normally if you can fight off a bunch of bad luck & health trials & get back up armed with determination .. that can be used as a big stepping stone for some, for greater success .....

Wow how profound my illustrious Ram Brother.

Corbett was not the weak link. He was the guy of our FA OL who most deserved the payday and got it.

We are fortunate no team threw money at the others. This offseason could have been a lot more challenging had that happened.

Yeah I noted that too in that excellent interview of Coen. Seemed like Stafford wanted Allen back and that QB/center comfort matters. Rams also think Allen will get better which I certainly hope happens. And best of all they got him back at a relative bargain for a starter.

The continuity is nice I will admit as well. Not a huge fan of Allen for the record but he gets the job done.

I'm really excited to see Coen run this offense too. Of course him getting Robinson added is a huge windfall and all things considered I'd be surprised if our passing game isn't top 3 in 2022.

Put a little Hot Sauce on it and it tastes fine.

Found it interesting that Shelton is left handed. He filled in well for Brian Allen though.
Bobby Evans was the odd OLineman out last season around here.We saw The Ram Fans were right(Bonifay’d),that he took a major step back.T. Anchrum will be a player to keep an eye on.He is going into his 3rd year at 23 years of age right now.He is a classic example of how The Rams are building within.

I know it’s a Brian Allen Fan. I’ve had a Heart beat on this thing since The Big 5.

Funny my last post here was better than I thought, but then again there was Covid ? I think that pushed the SuperBowl date back a season?

In fact The Big 5 was an awesome thing to see. Big Whitworth going out the way he did was FREAKING GREAT!!

Told my sister I was in The Top 5 percent of Notre-Dame-us.I know I need to see Jesus there & a bucket list thing.

Just want to add Austin Blythe was such a Great Ram utility Offensive lineman. He made Brian Allen better & John Sullivan was one of The Best Offensive Center Callers in the NFL.
In 2017 Jared Goff had not won an NFL game.He still lost his first 7 without Mcvay as well.Just as a resource.
Brian Allen’s brother also played in The NFL so I’ll give him credit for how much he has worked & improved. The Mcvay-Kromer factor is still in place as well. We’ll see how daddy does in Buffalo again, but Zach Kromer was been a Rams Offensive line coach from day1.
I’m just saying there is more depth on The Rams Offensive line because of this new rule.It is why The Rams have become such a Powerful Franchise.Sean Mcvay is good, but Les Snead & Kevin Demoff have the recipe in place from what Mcvay has built.
My other examples are the J. Kolone who was a udrfa they have as a backup center practice squad & J.Demby who was still on the injured reserved. The example how long it takes for young O’Lineman to develop.

Brian Allen obviously has value in the mental aspect which we can only learn about second hand. the o-line last year was strong across the board in pass blocking. But as Kyle Shanahan has reportedly said, any semi-competent pro should be able to pass block, the separation is in the run blocking. and in that area, the weakness and slowness of all three interior lineman was glaringly obvious. They are neither strong enough to move defenders or agile enough to hit their spots while moving. Glad Corbett is gone, he is replacement level at best. As is Edwards. Allen can get a pass in that he. Is smart, and the center position is least influential in being exposed. I fear next year will be much the same for the running game. 1 yard, 2 yards, -3 yards, rinse, repeat. I prefer we throw it 50 times a game and dare them to stop it consistently. It is what it is. Play to your strengths. Stubbornness almost cost us the super bowl. Get over this nonsense “stick with the run” when you simply cannot do it. JMO

Agreed. With Noteboom at OLT the run game will be even worse. That left side is weak.

The only saving grace is that Shelton looked like a better run blocker last season so if Allen can improve in that area they may be able to run right with a little more success.

Edwards took a step back last year. He was a decent run blocker in 2020.

I think the run game weakness is why they went after Robinson. I don't expect the run game to do much next season.
