I will say one thing we better win the big one this year ... or I can see McVay and co
Getting mauled in the media

So the Rams trade their 2nd round pick for Watkins.
Watkins plays well enough to test the FA market and signs for a big pay day.

Between the Watkins and Cooks trades, the Rams have no 1rst or 2nd round pick
Cooks is gonna play as well as Watkins?
Then Cooks enters FA looking for a big pay day and walks?

Rams have no 2nd rounder or a deep threat WR next year either.
Rinse and repeat.

Rams new Linebacker philosophy is simple.

Score more points than they do.

I think its a bit of a stretch to say he's better than Watkins. We do not know that yet, though the stats support your statement.

I've watched almost every game of his since he came into the league. I've targeted Cooks in all of my fantasy leagues for the past 2 years. This guy is LEGIT. He just needs a system that will buy into him. He's a great team mate. "WE" not "ME" mentality. He just needs a stable home to shine.

The dude has been the #1 receiver for every team he's been on.

Cooks is one the premier deep threats in the league glad to have him. I wanted to trade Tru for him last offseason.

Is it expensive? IMO only if they cant sign him long term. Added bonus of Cooks being cheaper than Odell more sustainable long-term cap wise.

But I love the move. Unlike Sammy he gets a whole offseason to work with Goff, so they can get on the same page. I dont think people realize how crucial Sammy was to the overall scheme. Cooks gives the Rams someone who can fit into that role seamlessly. Even though Cooks isn't as big as Sammy I think he is little more versatile. I love the addition even at that price.

Personally, I would like this deal more if we didn't have Tavon. He's kind of what I wish Tavon was as a receiver.

Idk how I feel about this. That’s precious draft Capitol to give up. I know Cooks numbers are good but I hope they don’t turn him into Austin or just use him as a decoy like Watkins

Yeah value wise, it's hard to like this trade. And the way the Rams spread the ball around is a WR who may not get a 1,000 yards in this system worth a 1st rounder? Tough call.

No 1 or 2. But Cooks is way better than Watkins or Odell as far as"taking the top off the d"

<Bluefonthereimcolorblind>Is this McVay saying he wants mannion happy more than goff<\bluefonthereimcolorblind>

Ok you're selling it to me. If he has a great team attitude then theres no big doubts as to why McVay would covet him.

Yeah tough trade to get a feel for. The Watkins deal was nice because we did not lose a 1st. I like Cooks, but I don't think he's all that much better then Watkins. Losing that 23rd sucks.
Our high 2nd was close to the low 1st we gave up for Cooks. Cooks is a flat out burner that has produced and put up 1k+ yards in offenses that spread the ball around like ours does. I like it.

Well the offense just got better and we wont have to worry about the void Sammy left.

I guess no LVE but I hope they move up with those 4ths and get a starting LB though.

The time between the combine and draft is flying by due to all the rams action. Usually its seems like an eternity but the moves so far have kept things rolling right along.

Frick. That 1st rounder was a lot to give up.

I like the Cooks fit in the offense and the fact that he is a top 10 WR in catch rate

Article showing his hands. From 2015 but still relevant as his catch percent since this has remained steady.

3 straight 1000 yard seasons.

I also like his fit with Goff as Goff is such an anticipation thrower and Cooks often comes open after the throw due to his world class speed.
