At what cost? 12m? I would rather Watkins at 16m. I don’t hate the player, just the trade. Cooks is not worth a 1st when he is only signed for next year. That in itself devalues him to a 2nd at best. Personally after last year I think he is worth a 4th. This is a bad trade for us, Brandin Cooks is not a 1st round value.
This smells of a panic move.
Easy Boston, the story is unwritten my friend. If you really see panic in any portion of the Rams off season, then we are looking at this all wrong.

To the contrary of panic, this latest move is luxurious. As @LoyalRam has pointed out.....we were already headed to the dance before this move.

It's clear our team leadership has been given a a direction. That direction is rooted in funfunfun.

Have fun. Resist panic. Embrace luxury.

Yooooooooo. I’m STOKED about this move. He’s better then Watkins and younger. Perfect fit for McVays offense. This is going to a fun year ladies and gents.

We also have a very young group of linebackers.
Something I said before. Apparently Wade is really high on Ebukam and Littleton and my boss also said those are two players to watch before even the Peters trade. He loves Barron as a player and thinks Price has potential as well.

Lol, fair points, but I’m not ready to plan the parade yet. We have work to do still! That was a massive asset we gave up, especially with this FOs ability to draft.

I’m enjoying the ride, maybe getting nervous. We are winning the offseason, but.........

You know the rest lol

It’s still a loaded NFC next year, I’m not ready to go all in yet. I would prefer to keep building and then strike. But I do trust these guys

So many negative Rams fans on Twitter. Who would've thought some fans would hate the fact that we keep getting better...

He is only twenty-four.

If we can sign him, I'm fine with this trade. I just don't like giving up a first when we don't even have a second.
Honestly? Fuck it. I’m all in on this move. We could draft 10 players and not many of them will likely be as good as Cooks.

Wade's D doesn't require stud LBers, so I'm not worried about that. Cooks should be a good fit.

They'll be a fun team on Madden, that's for sure.

Love getting the player and don’t buy in to this rental stuff.

But a first rounder though....
Dieter, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't you also against the idea of trading for Beckham? Just curious, because if I'm right, we've disagreed both times.
Let me state why that is. Simply, I put more value in a proven player than a player who hasn't proven anything yet, a player who may be a risk. Which means, that you may put a little more value on a draft pick than I do. Which is all fine as we're free to have an opinion.

I like it, so does Mannion lol

If this doesn’t confirm the Rams are “all in” next season then I suppose I don’t know what will

They (unlike seemingly most of you) apparently feel fairly decent about their second level of defense tho I’d venture to guess they will add a player or two

I see this draft focusing on OL and ILB

If so it makes sense as those positions can be found in rounds 3-6, especially interior OL... getting a future LT may not be easy, but maybe they sacrifice a late 4th to improve their 3rd round position.

I get it but I’m having a kick ass time in what has been historically filled with hand wringing and complaints that we have done virtually nothing in FA and the off season. This is so much fun when you harkin back to years gone past - especially the Spags years. Want him? Go get him. Want a trophy? Go get it. Who knows who will get better or worse in the coming years. Odds are we will be better than last year and I can’t wait to see this season unfold. GO FUCKING RAMS!!!

Snead is pretty open about using the tags. I'd think he at least gets tagged next year. The only real Watkins wasn't is because we called Joyner more I think

I at least want to see deals for AD and LJ done ... then it's a no-brainer.

Even better, I'd like to see deals for AD, LJ, AND BC ... take care of Gurley and Goff in each of the next two years, and our offense will be set up for success for several seasons hence.

And there is absolutely nothing that says we haven’t or can’t structure a deal to get all these players locked up while going all in THIS year.

I don't like trading draft picks...but I do like this deal for a few reasons. You trade for ODB.... you lock him in long term... you don't get him the ball enough..he's going to be a distraction... Sammy didn't get a lot of catches...he didn't get a lot of targets..not sure you'd get ODB much more... We honestly just need a deep threat to bring the safety over... that was Sammy's value to us last year....and I'm not sure we have the offense that was going to get too much more out of that spot...

and the honest truth is that Robert Woods is our #1 WR.... he proved that last year...and he earned it. Cooper Kupp is a prime slot guy for us...

all we need out of that other spot is a guy who is a threat to take the top off of a defense...

and now we have Brandin Cooks...who basically that's what he does...

and that also allows us to use Josh Reynolds in that spot....who may end up being the perfect fit for us there anyway...

if you trade for ODB... seeing what Reynolds can become doesn't happen...

also... I think we can now fill some holes in free agency with Cooks contract being on board.... and I wouldn't be surprised if we use a couple of our 4ths to move up into the 2nd round...
