No truth to the rumor he'll have a bat in his hands and a syringe sticking out of his ass.

Will his statue be bald with a big head and a scowl on his face that makes him look like he swallowed a bushel of unskinned lemons and limes?

I'll always be a Yankees fan but despise MLB as a whole. The holier than thou treatment of the steroid era that MLB initially endorsed is just sickening to me. Hypocrisy is the backbone of MLB. Barry Bonds was the best player in baseball long before his hat size grew.

He was also an arrogant fuckstick who couldn’t deal with not having attention. He didn’t need to do the cream and the clear to be a HOFer. Griffey Jr. was clean and beloved. Albert Pujols was clean and beloved, even though he was never a media guy, much like Bonds.

Bonds was an arrogant, greedy attention whore.

None of these guys were 100% clean. Not accusing them of using, although it surely wouldnt shock me if they had, but if they played on a team who had "dirty" players, they were complicit and benefitted from the success of others.
Pujols? Lol
Was the scurge of St Loo when he left for the loot, then they cant win without him so he comes back as a hero? Gimme a break.

Never had bad feelings for Albert. Most Cardinals fans had no bad feelings. We cheered him when he came back to Busch as an Angel; hell, we gave him a standing ovation and a curtain call when he hit a home run in one of the games the Angels played us, gave him a standing ovation as a Dodger, and when he came back, all of us were elated.

And on the bolded, we were in the playoffs multiple times after 2011, including a WS appearance in 2013. We only have had one under .500 season in the past two decades, and that was two years ago.

Stop pretending you know the Cardinals, our fans, and what we think; you don’t. Period. Full stop.

I get St Louis fans just fine thank you. Had to listen to all the whining when the Rams played in St Lou.

Where? The Post Dispatch? Please, that place is a cesspool. I know because I’ve been there before here.

Again, don’t pretend you know St. Louis sports fans because of the shittiest online sites.

Deidre Pujols told the station the negative reaction in St. Louis over her husband's decision to sign with the Angels has been striking.

"Albert has never lied. People are like 'Oh, we thought we knew who he was.' Well, we thought we knew who they were," she told the station.

"The city of St. Louis has absolutely been deceived and I have never seen hatred spread so fast and I understand why," she added. "Let me say that Albert and I never, not one time, ever made plans to leave this city."

Wow. You…you seriously think Deidre Pujols is a good source? She is Brenda Warner, only for baseball. She started the whole drama because she claimed that the Cardinals “insulted her” with their offer. Pujols divorced her ass because she was so toxic. The stories my mom has (she taught Pujols’ Down Syndrome daughter and Reggie Sanders’ girls gymnastics and knew Deedee and the Sanders well) would make your jaw drop.

Yeah, what would she know?
This is pathetic
I'd love to go back to the Real Rams Fan website (which was St louis based) and link up to all the spurned fans who spread their "hate"
Pretending it didnt happen is a joke.
Alas, Bonds at his best was the best pure hitter I've ever seen. But he'll remain a villain while others bask in glory because they didnt get caught. Like David Ortiz who actually did get caught but got a free pass anyways
MLB is a joke with their hypocritical ways

I still like Big Papi even though he was a Red Sox

And the thing about some players who didn't get into the HOF it is primarily due to them being assholes not because they were using.

They just used that as an excuse.

Big papi was an awesome guy in RL and although he did get caught, the committee won't keep him out of the Hall because he isn't an asshole.

If Bonds came clean, I bet he would eventually get in the hall.

I never said it didn’t happen. I said it wasn’t what the vast majority of us said. You want others to judge us because of our crazies?

Most of us didn’t like that Pujols left, but we accepted it because we felt he finally got the money he deserved, as he had taken a pay cut to stay with us. And you know the saying, “Time heals all wounds.”? That’s exactly what happened. Or do you want to pretend that we never gave him a standing ovation every single time he came to the plate, that we gave him a curtain call when he homered off of us? Do you want to pretend that once Albert divorced Deedee that he came back after he said he “rediscovered his love of the game” (with the Dodgers)?

You don’t know shit about Albert Pujols, the situation why he left, any of it. Stop pretending you do.

Full disclosure Barry and I went to school together. I played ball with his little brother and Barry was always kind to me. We knew his family growing up. The son of a major league. Ball player is always difficult. He didn’t know he handled it well but very is a sincere person And a very giving person. maybe strongly opinionated ones on this board have no idea about.

Albert Pulhols couldn’t hold Bonds jock. From age 15 on Bonds was the greatest athlete I ever saw. Football basketball and baseball. His dad made him drop one sport senior year so he dropped Football. But I believe he could have gone pro as a receiver. He was a natural.

And say what you will, but he respects the game and he respects others.

Maybe some guys in glass houses shouldn’t come so strong with their judgements.

I don't blame Bonds. I have to wonder what people in his inner circle were saying to him. I'm sure there were all sorts of rationalizations being thrown around. Meh. It is what it is. He was a SF Midget, so I always hated him as a fan. Now, I just hope he doesn't suffer for it health wise for the rest of his life.

That said, IDGAF what they put in front of that stadium. That team can rot in hell. Go BLUE!!!

I hear ya, brother. Our generation was pretty spoiled growing up with that 70's-80's lineup. Garvey, the Penguin, Lopes and the underrated Russell. Reggie Smith, Dusty and that pitching staff. Got to meet Dusty in 2000 and JT Snow, and that was pretty cool talking to him about his dad, and how I used to pretend I was Jack Snow in street football. :laugh1:...only without the great hands, and smooth running style.
I ended up having a ton of personal interactions with Giants (and still one current one, as I've shared with you) so it has cramped my ability to fully HATE that franchise. Maybe a 5/10 as opposed to my 11/10 hatred for the Whiners.

I still root for the Dodgers to destroy the Giants head to head though. That is clear.

As for Dieters point on Bonds the player though. We can debate how much the juice helped him, maybe pumped his HR numbers a bit, like Sosa, McGuire, and many others from that era, but the dude is a hitting Savant. Not just the deep ball. It's too bad all that got lost. He needs to own some of that for sure.

I'm not denying he's a great athlete. I'm not even denying that he's a bonafide HOFer if he didn't cheat. But he even admitted himself on a call with Ken Griffey Jr. (even if he denied it later) that he got upset at the attention Mark McGwire (who is a cheater that I hate was on the Cardinals and hope he never makes it to the Hall) and Sammy Sosa were getting and decided to juice himself up to surpass them. He was surly with the media, always looking for an excuse to argue with them so they wouldn't bother him. He may have been a good person when you knew him, but he was arrogant and surly in his entire time in the big leagues.

Pujols isn't the athlete Bonds was (although he wasn't poor; he did play outfield, shortstop, and third base because McGwire was there, and he was a great defensive first baseman), but he was one of the best right-handed hitters to ever play the game of baseball. Averaging .300 average, thirty home runs, 100 RBIs and 100 runs scored in his first ten seasons?

And as a person? It's not even close. Not even fucking close.

Good to know you are such a clean and moral arbiter. Wish I could be so clean as to judge like you. Too distracted by this plank in my eye.

Far from it, and I'll be the first to admit it.

I'm going off of verified accounts. I think I trust Ken Griffey Jr.'s word more than yours; he was a close friend of Bonds and knew him well. Or do you want to deny that Griffey Jr. said that Bonds was incensed that McGwire/Sosa were getting more attention than him when he knew they were juicing like hell, so decided to juice just as much as they did to get better stats than they did? Do you want to deny that he was arrogant and surly in court when he got caught, towards media, towards other teammates?

If you do, I'm not sure if I can trust your account. No offense, but I'll go off of what Bonds showed in his entire major league career. He probably was a good kid a long time ago, but that's it: it was a long time ago, and people change, for better or worse.
