Not at all. Suh was cut by Miami and had little interest since he had another issue on field in '17. He got paid handsomely for a 1 year prove it deal at 14 mill which was higher than the Franchise tag figure for DT that year. Hasnt sniffed that much $$ since

I'm with @Florida_Ram the idea that guys sign for "the culture" or "chance to win a ring" is really cliche and just doesnt happen. At least not with guys who are UFA that are amongst the highest sought guys.
Its always the money, particularly of the guaranteed variety, that lands the player
The question isn't whether a player will take a 1 year $5 million deal over a 1 year $12 million deal. It's more of a guy considering a 1 year $9 million deal versus a 1 year $12 million deal. Numerous dudes have taken the $9 million deal in that example because they were going to play for a contender and strongly preferred that squad.

Like who though? Surely not a Von Miller or Bobby Wagner. Both guys will be looking at 3-5 year deals with funny money built in

No, no, no. I WANT EM BOTH and I am going to hold my breath until it is done.....starting now

The numbers are irrelevant. They were used to demonstrate the point.

With Allen ONLY counting $3.5M against the cap this season, I think we have the cap space to get Wagner depending on how flex Von Miller is.

I think they're ironing out the deets on some really sweet signings.

Saying this now... If we bring Von Miller back AND sign Wagner... we're winning the Super Bowl AGAIN in '22.

Calling this now.

I get the feeling that whoever signs Wagner is not going to be satisfied with what they get. Not saying will regret it necessarily; but I think his best days are behind him and going forward it’s going to look much different. If viewed that way, and you’re paying him under $10m, then it’ll likely turn out ok. But not if you are paying him well over $10m/year and for multiple years.

Well, good sir, I will see your call and raise that we actually do keep Von AND sign wagner.. we are paying our entire oline about 18 mil this year for a reason.

Wagner is what we need. A true thumper. He's not going to be asked to go out and cover. We just need a guy to help play downhill. And think of the wisdom he can pass down to Ernest Jones.

I read a contract-breakdown for the Noteboom deal, and it reflected a $3.5M cap-hit for 2022.

Have not seen any details on Allen's deal. Did you see something on him, or did you mean Noteboom?
