It still irks me that the Seahawks took Wagner at 47 and all we got was Isaiah Pead….
With the cap room they have, it'd be easy for them. If it's an LA team, I fully expect it to be LAC. We all know the Rams won't spend much money or draft capital on an ILB. With E. Jones being somewhat of an exception.

He's not basing the lost step on one play. It happens to all great players. They all slow down with age. He does say he will age more gracefully. I can him see losing some weight to try and gain some quickness back. He is also looking at the cap hit of $16M and Wagner's future with the Hags.
I usually think in this situation that a player like Wagner still has good value to a team for a couple of more years. I think the cost would outweigh the benefits of the Rams signing him. It will be interesting to see what he gets paid as a free agent. It's hard to guess but, a two-year deal of around $20M might be a start. He is rated two spots behind Darius Williams as the #19 free agent by CBS sports.

The Rams have Earnest Jones taking Reeder's snaps. Jones is looking like a steal in round three of last year's draft. The other ILB spot is open but, the Rams will probably look for a much less expensive player as they don't keep him on the field on all three downs. The Rams need to find a way to resign Von Miller which will cost a lot of cap space.
Wagner got injured on the first play against the Lions in week 16 and missed the week 17 game. Looks like he will be fine.

Wagner is currently recovering from MCL and PCL sprains of his knee, but he didn't require offseason surgery and should be 100 percent well in advance of training camp.

We have something they don't . . . champions status. If Bobby is willing to accept less to play for a contender, that bodes well for us.

Too many people think this way.
The Rams might be the modern-day popular choice that screams come play for us and our awesome new SoFi stadium, amazing culture and super cool head coach, but the willing to accept less perception is way overstated.
I don't buy into the hype that the Rams current culture and success is as persuasive as a lot of people on this forum think.
Money will always have more power than championship status (I want to win a ring) cliches'.

Agree. I also believe it may come down to the age of the player and how much money they have previously made, how many more years they feel they'll be viable talent wise, whether they have a Super Bowl ring/s already, and if they hold great importance in the manner which they complete their careers. If a player hasn't been wise with his earnings in the past, holding out for a bigger payday makes sense, although someone who is quite secure financially may decide that going out on top and/or moving to a city they prefer for themselves and their family may be in their best interests.

Someone should ask Wagner who he wants to take his revenge on twice a year...his former QB who triggered the Seahawks break up? Or the Seahawks HC who released him. We'll have our answer to LAC or LAR.
I am hoping that LAC does get a trade done with Philly for Cox and takes away a big chunk of their FA money. All things being equal, I'm sure Wagz would rather play for the defending champs and against the team that cut him via social media twice a year. Another huge benefit is he fits the Rams acquiring him perfect, cut casualty = no ding against comp pick formula. Go get him.
