We had Baltimore beat except for some bullshit holding plays that allowed Lamar 5 to 10 seconds in the pocket and then the punt return.

Of course. But MacDonald might be a trend setter in defensive scheme. We already deal with Ratboy in division. Could end up being a real pain in the ass.

Because it seems to indicate he thinks everything was fine with his process.
Results argue against that.
Now, maybe NE’s problems are more a function of BB’s control of personnel… but do we have any indication he wouldn’t demand total control?

What was New England's record when BB has those 2 on his staff? Pretty sure the last time all were together they were in a Superbowl
If you are going to hire an arguable GOAT HC and think that his process is in question, than it's the hiring folks with the issue
I dont like BB, I wouldnt want BB. But if he was my coach I sure as hell wouldnt tell him who he could and couldnt hire

Agreed. It's probably more about age and shelf life. Do I hire this first ballot HoF coach who could punch out or lack fire and intensity at his age, or go get a young guy on the upswing.

He won 11 games with Matt Cassell
So let me understand, they wont tell him who to hire, just who he cant?
That's why BB has SB rings and Arthur Blank doesnt
Take the names out of the equation and its pretty clear.
Either way, glad they gave Morris a shot, although I cant say I hope he does well because I hate the Falcons
They'll always be NFC "west" to me

I'm just gonna add on BB...
Sure.. he had the good year with Cassell... Cassell also won 10 games one year with KC .. with Todd Haley as HC.
BB, imo.. had a run fueled by, arguably, the greatest QB of all time.. playing on and under market value contract. His wife was making the money. When Tom wanted to get paid.. as he deserved.. BB let him go.

BB has had losing seasons 3 of last 4 years.. why do we think he, along with his current brain trust, can win?

Let's compare this to McVay.. who.. after one, sub-par season.. blew out a well-respected DC.. and brought in a guy with no experience as a DC... and changed defenses around the league.
And then... after one losing season... Sean shook things up a bunch.. bringing in new blood from all around the league, guys he never had worked with... like Staley.

You're dynamic and flexible, or you're not, imo. Especially when you underperform.
