I saw something earlier about the Steelers and their coach hires. Knoll was 37 never played or coached for the Steelers. Bill Cowher was 34 never played or coached for the Steelers. Mike Tomlin was 35 never coached or played for the Steelers. Granted all of them had some coordinator experience but only a couple years each. Based on their history not too far out in left field. Not sure it happens but he fits the history plus they might just go an offensive guy after all that defense.
Noll was the OL Coach for the Colts and highly sought after. Cowher had a stellar reputation as did Tomlin, but many both were a few years away. Tomlin was interviewed because of the Rooney rule and they had no plans to hire him, but he wowed them.

I could see that and it’s why I brought up David Webb.

No. I don't think so. He doesn't fit the "Steeler Coach Mode" Steeler coaches are "stern, no nonsense hard nose types" and I don't think that's Shula.

Harbaugh fit's that mode, but the question would be, is Harbaugh willing to coach against the same division all over again. I could see Harbaugh Coaching the Raiders.

I think we see Shula as DC next year too. I don't think the Ram D' was stout enough to bring attention to him.

Doubtful he goes where there is no QB in sight.

I will really be shocked if they go Shula. I am sure he will be an outstanding interview, but I really thought the Steelers would go offense because that is where they are lacking and will need a QB too.
Just posting what I saw, betting money is always interesting, but never the tell all
With Pittsburgh coaching history and the age of the guys they hired, Noll 37, Cowher 35 and Tomlin 35, I surely dont see that trend changing. They plan on guys coaching there a long time
Kubiak 38
Shula 39
McDaniel 42
Stefanski 43
Flores 44
Saleh 46

So was thinking about Harbaugh. Won the Super Bowl in what 2012? Six of the thirteen years since he's missed the playoffs. He has what 4 playoff wins sine 2012? With an mvp qb as well. I'm not sure he's the greatest prize out there. Also for him, Tomlin and McCarthy no coach has won a SB with 2 teams unless I missed somebody.

Nope
Nobody has won a SB with more than 1 team
Several guys have been there with more than 1, but never won it
Off top of my head, Parcells, Vermeil, Holmgren and Reid took 2 teams

He's a special teams source coach as well if memory serves. Which means he doesn't really lock down one side of the ball for you, as teams in this era prefer due to poaching. That said if you're good at oversight you can get the most out of both coordinators and clearly he's a quality coach. Not up there with McVay or anything, but he's a top half coach who isn't really seen as an innovator.

Also age is a real factor with coaches. There are outliers, but it's a tough job man. I am sure it wears you down. So most of the great coaches even hit a point where the give-a-fuck drops out or whatever else with age and they end up being a shadow of who they were. Which in his case isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread anyway.

All that aside look at the Raiders or the Browns and their chain of hires and a guy like Harbaugh I'd imagine would be attractive. Because he's a known quantity. But yeah I do wonder how much he has left in the tank.

Also with the Raiders the main question is what kind of coach wants to be there? I can see them shoot for the moon and no have enough ammo to make the shot.

Also I saw this and not directed at you but something for the people saying teams need to get an offense guy especially if they are needing a young qb

Four on each side and 2 on each side have a qb on a rookie contract. Something to ponder.

I think they're gonna hire Nate. But if they want him they may want to expedite that. He's starting to feel like the belle of this year's ball.

They also are interviewing Webb so he scratches the same itch for Brady. But Nate had coffee with McVay.
