I went offensive execution. Defense had the worse game but I am so fucking tired of our offense getting hit in the mouth by SF. It's a goddamn meme at this point.
Yeah, that's a tough call. I'm sick of that too, but we were facing a broken down QB with no wheels to worry about, 1/2 their offensive threats injured, yet it took until late 4th to take away short/medium outlets. In other words, THEIR ONLY HOPE.

Had we started with the Bears mentality against McVay's unstoppable offense in his early days, we'd have won by 30 and had 10 sacks.

Who would have thought that a reliable FG operation would be the only thing keeping this team from being 5-0? Two years ago, yeah sure we all had concerns about the FG kicker, but we resolved that issue I think. Now we cant stop penetration up the middle, giving up blocked FGs in 3 of our 5 games.

too complex of a list and missing some of the more obvious points.

I'd go in this order.

1. In ability to kick FG's (yet again)
2. Kyren fumbling and dropping a key pass.
3. Defensive play calling.

I went with coaching/prep/mindset because I think everything else on the list flowed from that.

They clearly weren’t ready, came out flat, took too long to get going on offense and never adjusted on defense. The mistakes and sloppiness are a reflection of the mindset.

It started with defensive playcalling.
Stafford missed a wide open WR.
Corum fumbled a pitch.
The Kyren dropped pass and fumble and FG units all screwed the pooch.

It was a perfect storm black magic shit we see against the Niners dam near annually.
I feel stupid I didn't see this coming.

But that defensive soft middle zone crap went on way too long. That is what I selected.

And I will say this, you have to mix up the defensive looks or the playcaller and QB has already won half the battle.

Maybe the short week was the culprit. Not enough time to prep?
It seems some assistants could have prepped the niners film and ahead of time but maybe that is not a thing.

Lots of learning lessons for coaches and players alike.

We are 3rd in the league with 401 yards pregame, just behind Dallas and Buffalo at 404. However, we are just 13th in scoring. This is where the main problem lies. We don't capitalize our possessions worth a shit. Wasted red zone chances, bad penalties, untimely turnovers, stupid ass coaching decisions, I guess it's all the above. If we can just match the points with our yardage totals we should be able to win any kind of game, low or high scoring.

It's a really long, grueling season. I can understand how coaches and teams can struggle with the mental aspect. We've witnessed McVay losing to inferior teams before, the win-less Jets in 2020 for example.

But I have not seen a special teams unit this bad, ever.

Special teams have been somewhere from marginal to bad under McVay. He has been through ST coaches and the problem remains. So I don't know that it's the coaches. It could be. But I also think McVay himself and how he prioritizes the bottom of the roster affects them.

Fisher was never anywhere near the coach that McVay is. But one thing he did right was open up ST periods late in camp where jobs were won and lost in execution of solely the ST roles. Bottom of his roster were professional teamers, not guys deep on the depth chart who have good upside for the offense.

No coach is perfect. If I could have a beer with Coach and list some things I felt he should focus on to improve his team's potency, the prioritization of the very bottom of the roster would be one of those things.

I think it mental/prep/gameplan.

Felt like we expected to show up and just win. While we have a Super Bowl core, we have too many current flaws they to be able to do that.

I am VERY confident that these two losses will make us better long term.

100%.
Defensive YPG is nowhere near as important as points allowed.
It’s all about the scoreboard.

The Rams should have put that eagles game away by halftime.
