Big off-season question: Do the Rams keep Goff next year?

Of course keep him.
Need to revamp the OL(played well, but have dropped off).
Got to find a healthy running back.
Akers and Hendo get banged up too much.
Brown could be gone as some have suggested.
As others have mentioned, a deep threat WR.

For those wanting Goff out, could you elaborate on who to bring in and how to address the other positions.

Notice how the Chargers can't win consistently with a star QB in Justing Herbert. The players surrounding the QB are a factor too. Goff has already proven he can take a team to the Super Bowl. He's good enough. The Rams just need to bring in better players (starting with Josh "Give yourself up" Reynolds).

With a .500 at worse record with McVay as coach, to get into decent draft country will take 2 firsts and 2 seconds at a minimum. Drafting in bottom half of first round wont get the job done, and its not like we don't have other needs

I'm not advocating trading Goff, but just reminding you both that Tom Brady was a 6th round pick, and Russell Wilson was a third round pick, and Kurt Warner was an udfa. Anything can happen.


What I would really like to see happen is for McVay to give the OC more input or let him call plays. McVay needs to step back and get some perspective.

Herbert is a great example - if Goff was playing like him and we were still losing, this wouldn't be a thread

Just fix the center position and I think Goff improves 100%.

Of quite a few of the passing plays I have reviewed in the Jets and Seattle game where Goff got either sacked or pressured to get the ball away within a sec or two, it is almost always Blythe who ole's his block. Fix the center position and both our running game and passing game becomes a high end offense again.

I knew Sullivan was getting old but he would have been a 1000 times improvement over what Allen and Blythe gave us.

I would not draft a QB with our first pick. No one special will make it to our pick and I think we need Center, Speedy WR, ILB in that order and maybe OLB if Fowler goes.

I can't stress enough how much we need a better center. Blythe has cost this offense quite a few points.

I think we need to ignore the defense until later in the draft.

I'd be fine with going all offense, but it's a gamble - I don't want to waste a season and if Goff is the issue, I want a viable option. I think what the Eagles did by drafting Hurts is the way to go, but I'd be fine with going all offense.

The problem there is, nobody is starting day one. McVay has started Kupp on offense as a rookie and that's it. It took Akers most of the year to start and he was clearly our best option. I doubt he starts a 2nd round center, but I agree an upgrade is needed.
 
We'll see how the combine and stuff goes but at this point I dont think there's a QB who will be in the 4th-6th round range that would be better than Bryce Perkins.
As a Goff supporter, I dont think the issues are all his fault, however there's no way he's "all the eggs in one basket" worthy any longer. I dont think he needs to be replaced but for sure would be blind to not see a solid plan B is needed

Next year? Yeah, for better or worse. It's probably his make or break year, though.

i think wolford (wolfman jack) is the qb that needs to be worried about being cut if he plays bad we need to draft or trade for a backup qb. if he plays well that saves us a draft pick and we need all the pick we can get because of weak spots in the line up plus losses due to cap hits. there has been a lot of talk about the need to replace blythe witch i agree with. not that i have watched the ol that closely but i have my doubts about boom (if we are trying to establish the run) also i wonder about colbert he seems to help hav when it looks to me that he should help blythe. anyway here is hoping that wolfman shows well and gets us a win over them birds then goff comes back with a new fire and takes us to the big bowl

I believe Jalen Hurts was picked in the first round. All I am saying is by the time they get to our pick, all the viable QBs will probably be taken and we may as well wait until a later round and see if we can get lucky on someone.

But I do agree with you that our first two picks should definitely be either center or speedy WR.

If a very good center drops, I would trade up to get him. But yeah - McVay rarely starts a rookie offensive player and rookie defensive players unless they show a lot in camp (ie Fuller)
 
It doesn’t look like we have a choice right now. We own the choices we have made. I really think we need to be better at not getting ourselves into these situations. I hope Wolford does well in the mean time.
