Thought that Bradford's arm was potentially top-of-the-scale elite with the ability to make throws most QBs wouldn't have dared throw. Goff's arm is elite, but very few matched Bradford's strength and accuracy, even when Bradford was rushed or mobile. Goff did show more being on a bad Cal team, but Bradford was also quick through progressions. You know me, though; I love seeing athletic freaks. I'd still have taken Bradford, but I wouldn't have said "no" to Goff.

I didn't see Bradford's arm the same way. It was on par with Goff's. He didn't have the arm that Stafford did (who went #1 the year before him). And certainly didn't have the arm of the elite guys (ex. Rodgers). Both he and Goff could make every throw imaginable within the structure of the offense, but neither guy had the sort of rare arm where they could make ridiculous off-platform throws and out-of-structure plays like Mahomes and Rodgers do.

I wasn't a big fan of drafting Goff in the first place, I would have preferred Wentz that year, just because he was a more competitive guy, and had a better attitude.

If Goff and Bradford had came out in the same draft, I would have taken Bradford, without a question.

Bradford's biggest problem was his injuries, not his abilities.

Yet, Bradford never showed the ability on the field in the NFL that Goff has.

OROY?

The two awards were split and looking back Sam was probably 3rd best after Suh and Mike Williams. I might have put him 4th behind Blount and his 5 ypc
look above, Sam has a message for ya...

Which should tell you exactly how bad Jeff Fisher and Rob Boras were if the 2010 Rams coaches could even fake their way to an OROY.
Or, we saw a Sam before he was ruined by said 2010 coaches and impressed others enough to win the award...

Did Goff ever win it, counselor?

That's irrelevant to the point I made. Bradford's play as a rookie was poor. It doesn't come close to what Goff did in 2017 and 2018 (or even 2019 and 2020).

Well how could it? You are comparing apples and horse turds as far as coaching staffs and offensive schemes, weapons, and even the Oline. Who the frig was protecting Sam after Rodger Saffold?

Even when he went to Minnesota, he wasn't particularly good. He pulled an Alex Smith and put up numbers that look good on the surface in 2016, but their offense went nowhere because he checked it down nonstop. 2017 Case Keenum in that offense was very arguably better than 2016 Bradford. Sam was definitely a victim of his circumstances, but he wouldn't have been a superstar in better circumstances. IMO, in a good spot, he would have been similar to Alex Smith later in his career. Cautious game manager who doesn't lose you games but won't win you games either. I'd take Goff over Sam without thinking twice. Goff is prone to turnovers, but he has the balls to go win you games.

And I say this as a person who loved Bradford as a prospect and have to admit I was very wrong in hindsight.
