:thumbsup1::thumbsup1:Thumbs up kid. This has been the story of your life. You were never supposed to make the UGA team but you did. You weren’t supposed to be worth a shit if you did. But then you won back to back Nattys. You were not good enough to be drafted in the NFL but then you went in the 4th round. Then you fell down and just about everybody sent out the “told you so”. Now, you have gotten up it seems. And you probably are still not good enough. Keep working. You’re probably going to show everybody another little surprise
Stetson homer!

Well, if he was out for the year from an injury, would us fans deserve to know what the injury is? I think so. Doesn't that help us evaluate the player? Therefore, why not learn what kept Stetson out? What if it was drugs? Would you want to know if a player on your team was on crank?
Imagine calling a company for, say, a plumbing repair.
Ok, before I have your plumber sent out, I need to get his personal medical history, medication they are taking, political affiliation, internet search history and relationship history.
Crazy, right?

You don't ask for blood type too?

If he does come back, I think us fans deserve to know what his issues have been.
Not sure how you figure he "owes" us his personal information. If he decides to share, so be it. But I can't see how he should be compelled to tell us anything if he doesn't want to. The team knows what he's going through and they will make the decisions regarding his future. Any information we may get won't make any difference besides satiating some entitlement mentality that fans may have.
Bennett's arm strength or lack thereof in that last preseason game was a bit concerning.
If I recall right, and I think I do, he looked pretty good in his first action. After that, the wheels fell off the train. I have to wonder how much of his subsequent play was a result of whatever he is going through. Either way, we're going to see if he is in the team's plans. I am hoping for the best but as a fan am not going to get too emotionally invested in him.

While I can understand what you're saying, we don't have any right as fans to demand this info. Would it be somewhat settling to know? I suppose. But that's as far as I would take it.

Rams are covering their bases just in case there is a QB that they like and is available in this April’s draft.
Bennet coming back means NOTHING. He still has to compete and earn that third string QB role. After all, he is a 27 year old rookie QB and the Rams will have to see how he handles the competition in training camp.
Based on his last preseason plays, Bennet was not like Carson Wentz carving the Niners defense.
So who knows, he might be cut or traded before the season starts. But for now he’s still part of the Rams.

Why does the NFL disclose injury reports, surgeries, etc. of players? Just because it may be a mental injury, that doesn't get disclosed? If it keeps him off the field, like an injury, why not disclose it?

I don't even think Carson Wentz was Carson Wentz carving the Niners defense!

I know. I was hyping him up.
But who would you rather have as a backup QB? Wentz or Bennett when you need a backup to win 3-4 games when your starter is out?

Hopefully Bennett because that other ship has sailed.

Or, you forget the fact that - 1) Jimmy G is the backup and no way would Bennet be expected win 3-4 games; 2) They believed enough in him as a 4th round pick. The brass definitely believed in his ability to at least be groomed. They are giving him the chance and I believe in the brass.

Hippa laws? It might be, they can only disclose what the player allows them to disclose.

Furthermore....

How about if you lost/quit your job because you were hearing voices that were making your dick hard? Eventually, those voices disappear and you get another job. Through everyday conversations with your co-workers, they find out you had a nice job (better?) with another company, so they ask why you left. Should you have to disclose to everybody in the company, your previous 'ailment'? It's over. It's no longer happening. But it could be significantly embarassing, no?

Yes, Jimmy G is the current backup on a one year deal. But for the long term, I still think the Rams will draft a backup QB this year just to cover their bases for the next 2-3 years.

Honestly, that is a really tough answer.

I've been critical of Wentz for a long time. If it was one game, prob Wentz. But 3-4, I worry that he significant shortcomings would be exposed and his inability to play on time would crater the offense. I think at this stage in his career, you'd have to play him like Taysom Hill.

On the other hand, I worry about Bennett's mental stability (the meds may have taken care of that) and his ability to process an NFL offense.

Shows you how little I think of both!

I’m with you on this.
I’m not sure that it’s our right, but I certainly like to know about the medical conditions of our roster.
…and yes, addiction is a medical condition.

His absence has nothing to do with football so I don't believe either Bennett or the Rams owes us an explanation. Besides... I don't think this is to difficult to figure out.

Totally get you there. I am a business owner, so I would like to know (if possible) that someone I was considering hiring has a past of "hearing voices". That would be helpful in my hiring decisions. Now, the NFL releases injury reports, etc. so us fans can have some knowledge about the players on the team, or players available for trade or in Free Agency, etc. We use that knowledge for discussion as fans, about our team. So, that was my only point. Following a team as a fan, I'm thinking I would like to know what's up with a player, just like their injury history/status is made available. I don't think extreme detail needs to be disclosed about a "mental" condition, but maybe a general description. Anyway, just sharing my thoughts here since this topic with Bennett has developed.

Thanks. And I'm not saying we need specific possibly embarrassing detail, just a general category to have some idea what's up...that's all.
