Pretty sure he's referring to folks who aren't Rams fans, or are just neutral fans or who are posing as Rams fans. Those foolish fucks.

But I want the #1 seed and division to make the people who doubted the rams look foolish af. I'm also curious as to whatever excuse they would make to being so wrong.

I want the #1 seed for the bye and HFA.

Not sure if getting the #1 seed is a big deal besides they bye. There is no guarantee the Saints will even win a playoff game. If Brees isn't healthy and they have to go with Hill then they are pretty limited offensively. If green bay gets it that will suck though.

It’s within reach now if GB and NO lose conference games and Rams run the table.

why do they need to lose conference games? don't the rams have a harder strength of schedule? wouldn't that give them the #1 seed if they finish with the same record?

I believe record vs common opponents will come into play vs Green Bay/N.O. for the #1 seed (Even if we win out and GB only loses to the Titans and/or the Saints only lose to the Chiefs it will not help our cause at all.) Conference records would be 10-2 for all 3 of us; however vs common opponents against the Packers our record would be 3-2 (Wins-Bears, Bucs, Eagles. Losses-SF, SF) and Green Bay would be 4-1 (Wins-Bears, Bears, Eagles, SF. Loss-Bucs). Common opponents vs the Saints our record would be 3-2 (Wins-Bucs, Bears, Eagles. Loss-SF, SF) and NO would be 4-1 (Wins-Bucs, Bucs, SF, Bears. Loss-Eagles). GB would edge out the Saints on the head to head win. So we need to win out and hope the Packers lose one to an NFC opponent and hope the Saints lose one to an NFC opponent. If we win out and neither the Saints or Packers lose another NFC game we can’t clinch the 1 seed (if all teams are tied at 12-4 we would get the #3 seed ). The Saints remaining NFC foes are the Vikings and Panthers. The Packers remaining NFC foes are the Panthers and Bears. Of course we have to take care of business and hope for a couple of huge upsets. The losses to the Niners really screwed us

  1. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
  2. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.
Two Clubs
  1. Head-to-head, if applicable.
  2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
  3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
  4. Strength of victory.
  5. Strength of schedule.
  6. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
  7. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
  8. Best net points in conference games.
  9. Best net points in all games.
  10. Best net touchdowns in all games.
  11. Coin toss.

I hope McVay lets Goff pad his stats this week. Poor Jared is a victim of McVay's preference to run the ball in for TDs in the red zone.

The Miami loss doesn't look near as bad as it did a month ago. Their D is legit and the Rams got sucker punched. Buffalo is legit as you said, and one could argue that game was stolen at the end by the guys who throw yellow flags.

IMO the two Niners losses are the only black marks thus far this season. Division games, inferior opponent.
Yes and I think Miami helped us too btw. IMO the Rams were reminded of some important shit and sharpened up on it which helped them to get through Nov on their sched. They're in a better place now because of that Miami game I think.

Totally agree. No doubt they have doubled down on their response to all out blitzes. Goff and the team should hopefully be ready for any degree of pressure now. Maybe McVay would use more 12 formations and runs now too given the recent success with Akers and the oline/ tight ends blocking.

Part of the Miami loss also imo was the cross country flight the day before and the time change. Rams had a brutal schedule in the first half and the last trip east got to us. Another reason to want home field advantage in the playoffs instead of a possible trip east if we slip to number 5 in the standings.

Beat the Jets?

My God I can't imagine what would have to happen to stop the Rams from beating the ever loving shit out of them.
McVay should try to get a huge lead and pull key starters as early as possible.

At this point the Jets should be tanking it. If Cincinnati were to get the first pick it would cost a fortune for the Jets to trade for it. A win or two in a Los season would not be worth that.

I want the Rams to win out. Don't rest starters unless the game is beyond the opponents reach. First seed is still a possibility considering who the Packers and Taysom lead Aints have to play.

This. It was odd the amount of people who looked at me crazy after me saying we AT WORST were a 9-7 team again.

This is how I understand it as well. We can get the #1 seed if we win out and the Packers and Saints lose one more NFC game.

Current NFC Losses:
Rams - Lost to Niners 2x
Saints - lost to Packers and Eagles
Packers - lost to Vikings and Bucs

Our best chance is Packers losing at Soldier Field in the final week and Saints losing to Minnesota.

Both Minnesota and Chicago will be playing with urgency in order to get a playoff spot.

If not, oh well, we get an extra playoff warmup game.

I mean HFA would be nice as it cuts out the travels (don’t fancy an east coast trip for a playoff games ) but, and I may be completely off base here .. but it’s my perception that we are usually pretty poor coming off a bye week we never seem as sharp when the guys have had a week off

Anyway just make the playoffs I think on our day we can beat anyone and to quote the man

To be the man you gotta beat the man .. wooooo

Unless the playoff calculator is off, I am showing if we win out and GB loses to Chicago and NO loses to Minnesota then Rams are #1 seed.

Yep I was off. In my head I was counting a loss to the Chiefs for the Saints in which case we wouldn't jump them

Bottom line is we can beat anyone.

Even a "road" playoff game in GB; less fans.

Our D will travel and that could be a ground and pound game and Ill take my chances. Like Hekker for the field position battle that game could be...Webster, well thats a horse of a different color, but hey hes due....

Just keep improving these next 3 weeks, no injuries, big Whit back, Gay keeps progressing and getting comfortable and lets roll...

Fun time to be a Rams fan....and Dodgers!!
