All I can do is LMAO

Why trade to move from bad to a QB that is mediocre at best? The dude can't read defenses, he reads only half the field after 3 years. OBJ exposed his limitations more than any evaluator has done. The performance by OBJ with the Rams proved the limitations of Baker.

They would have been better to have traded for Jimmy G. At least you get a good QB, not a mediocre limited player. This is no steal they got what they paid for.

They sent a conditional 5th rounder for a guy who will be an upgrade over what they have, and only have to pay him 5 mill. Garopollo will cost 24 mill and is in no way a QB you look to build a team around.

I hoped Darnold would turn out just from the USC angle. I do think all these QBs are going to benefit from McAdoo though, he's a good OC so the talent they had plus the RB returning should be impacted with the OC upgrade. They have the makings of a nice offense if they could get consistent QB play.

Mayfield just needs to do the work. Needs to unfuck his feet and try harder to play within the scheme. I honestly don't care either way with him, but I do appreciate the fact he won a bit in Cleveland which is no small feat. He's kind of a prick I suspect, but he's likeable in his commercials. It would be funny to see the QB the Shitstains kicked to the curb turn around and smoke their asses in this year's matchup. I just don't like the Browns at all and hope to see continued misery.

But pretty nice move for Carolina to get a QB who showed a little thus far in his young career for a ham sandwich. If he and McAdoo bond and have good comms we might see some shit.

There was quite a bit of unflattering game tape on Mayfield during the Beckham ordeal. But, he’s played well in stretches and unlike Darnold I am not sure his game is a finished product.

After his 2019 and 2020 seasons Baker played well enough to earn TV commercials and I believe he was a heavy part of the NFL marketing campaign those days.

Since then he’s had an injury, hasn’t played as well, and become labelled a douche. Not sure how he mostly did a 180 in one year, but that seems to have happened.

Not really close at all but would be about as good a spot given his current options.

We’ll just outside the bulls-eye.Well yes if Watson gets that year suspension. That defense will be tough with a solid running game.

I had been thinking a QB swap between the browns and 9ers made sense, especially if the 9ers would eat some of jimmy g-string’s salary.

I’m not a huge fan of either, but there are not 32 QBs better than them in the league. They are both legit starting QBs.

They’re just not good enough to play on the Rams.

Agree. Now that Baker has been traded… JG to the Browns feels like a matter of time now.

I have to admit, I have a hard time being objective when it comes to Garapolo. I actually liked him coming out of college but then he went to the Pats which is like strike 1. Then he goes to the 9ers and its game over. Throw in the lucky wins against the Rams and he's just dead to me. Lol
That said, Cleveland with 15 mill locked in at the QB position, and that doesnt even count Watson, makes it hard to fathom how (and why) they squeeze JG's 25 mill under the cap.

I don't see Garoppolo ending up in Cleveland for that reason regardless of the Watson scenario. If not staying with San Francisco IMO, Garoppolo will be traded to Houston because of former Patriot Nick Caserio being there & it's hard for me to fathom even with the Texans being a joke that they feel Davis Mills is a viable option.

And yet they do like Mills. They’ve had all offseason to make a move to add in another QB and haven’t, should tell us something.

I realize that and they like Mills because he's cheap and maybe the figure if he's an epic fail, they will have their choice of QB in the draft next year. I really feel sorry for the fans of Houston because I just don't see them trying to get better.

They hired Lovie Smith because they really wanted to hire Josh McCown, but feared the back lash so they just promoted Lovie. Egad, what a dumpster fire and IMO, that won't change until the sale of the franchise, which I'm not sure is an option presently.

Yeah adding Jimmys salary which I’m not even sure they can afford doesnt help a rebuild.

The 49er fans ain't happy with one less potential trade partner for Garoppolo. They're hoping Cleveland will be interested. But how much better is Garoppolo than Jacoby Brissett? Is he worth paying 25 mil compared to Brissett's 4.5 mil?

I suppose if Watson is suspended for a year they could use Garoppolo as a one year stop gap. But they would be investing something like 70 million or more for that position.

That would be a hard pill for Browns fans to swallow if Garoppolo doesn't get them to the playoffs. Or if he goes down for the year. If Watson isn't suspended I can guarantee they won't trade for Garoppolo.

All I know is, the anxiety 49er fans are feeling is glorious to me. They don't want Garoppolo to stay with the team. But they also know their young franchise guy may not be ready. If they go with him its possible they waste a roster that is supposed to be a contender. They're doing a lot of nail biting these days. That just gives me the warm and fuzzies.

They did sign Kyle Allen who proved quite serviceable with Washington and he is a Texas kid. I think between he and Mills you dont need a Garopolo

All things considered, *if they were smart*, they would would hold on to JG thru TC/PS. Surely a team will lose their QB, and would make a panic trade a la Bradford to the Vikings
Alas....

Speaking of Davis Mills...

My friend's son just got back from Mills' QB Camp up in Norcross GA. Mills paid for everything for the kids he invited. My friend just had to take his son up there and Mills took care of both of them for the whole camp. I think he had 25 kids in this camp from all over the country. Sounds like a great dude.
