This guy was an OVERACHIEVER!! Playing behind Creed Humpries, but if The Rams drafted him he would have been KC’s starting Center.
He was an excellent mentor & Brian Allen & Shelton Coleman learned from what John Sullivan pasted down to those guys.
Starting for the Hags going to the playoffs(weak), but Geno Smith had a excellent season with his hands under Blythe.
I always liked Blythe, but my issue with The Rams remains the same.

OMG....The Horror...

I will always believe he should have been The Rams C/G swing.
Starting Austin Blythe in 2019 was the end of all ENDS for the season. Starting Shelton Coleman again & NOT FINDING a True STARTING RG would be just like 2022.

I guess I should thank THE REAL AUSTIN for SAVING THE RAMS O”LINE. AUSTIN CORBETT!!

Dude was The Rams starting RG 2018 Super Bowl run. I’d say he wasn’t all that bad.
Go back & lock at his BLITZ pickup against the niners when Goff threw the INT PICK6 before halftime. If Goff trusted he would have picked up that guy he had a for sure TD to Josh Reynolds.
Austin Blythe for what he sidnformThe Rams salary Cap wise was a ALL PRO. IMO he was a better Center than Brian Allen & should have never played Guard except when Major Injuries accrued.
Make all The Jokes you want to.He went out on Top & knew when to retire.
Being an UNDERSIZED NFL is no easy feat. Just making it the way he did & as a RAM deserves R.E.S.E.C.T. weather any HATER doesn’t want to give a CLASS ACT RAM that is there choice.
He proved he was a starting NFL Center. I just wish The Rams filled The CENTER POSITION the right way.
In 2017 he was really the only backup G/C. Aaron Kromer got lucky there wasn’t any injury’s.
JAMON BROWN - ROBINSON?? whatever his first name was?

TELL ME ABOUT IT - Austin Blythe
IMO will always be a special player that never got his true dues as a Ram. —I will certainly always appreciate how he put on his cleats, study, helped other plays & was a WINNER!! Plus a CLASS ACT!

I remember being stoked we could plug Blythe in when Jamon Brown went down, without skipping a beat on our OL.

I followed Washington (when the Rams were in SL) and they would continually refuse to invest in OL, year after year, and I saw what happens when you get so far behind in OL development, so it was so exciting to see my team know what they were doing.

-yeah but once again he was a BACKUP C/G . The Rams needed to fill the GUARD position.

——PLUS Brian Allen should have NEVER been DRAFTED!!! Then not drafting Creed Humpries( a center) or any of The Best 5 Centers in the 2021 draft after moving on from AUSTIN BLYTHE.
Sort of passing on Creed Humpries with Blythe helped them
Sort of win a Superbowl.

I sound like a broken (O”Line) record, but Brian Allen helped The Rams win a Superbowl. Point being that a small center can’t play GUARD in The NFL. It would be nice to have bigger CENTER in the middle.
I know I sound like a A”HOLE,but my passion won’t ever go away or that other stuff.

That was THE PERFECT PICTURE of what moving on from BRIAN ALLEN & AUSTIN BLYTHE should have looked like.
52 in RAMS BLUE & GOLD!! Not T. Lewis the season before. Add the minus to the subtraction & you would have 2 POSITIVES!!

Thanks Les Snead & Sean Mcvay for whatever the next step is & hopefully moving forward in a better way. — as the train says Tutu!!

It’s threads like this that made Austin Blythe decide to retire.
What about Malcom Brown? Didn’t The Rams get a Comp pick for him? Yeah even though Malcom was hurt(Gurley),to think what CJ Anderson did running behind Austin Blythe to a Superbowl.
Why The Rams kept Austin Blythe should make some think that The Rams needed to address certain positions & know what there talent level is.

Thanks Bobby Evans!!

So Seattle needs a center. The Seahawks had former-Ram Austin Blythe starting last year.

So ... the Rams trade Brian Allen to Seattle for ... Ummm ... let's say the 5th overall pick.

That works ... Right?!?

Far as I can tell.... he didn't have that many catches, anyway..... :woozy2::woozy2:

I just realized that this man left the Rams before the 2021 season (SB champs) and then left the Chiefs before the 2022 season (SB champs). Very unlucky with timing. Hopefully, the trend doesn't continue with the Seahawks winning a Super Bowl in 2023.

My worry is these shit tards need a new center and will probably try to jump us for one in the draft

Well - compare there 2 CB’s to The Rams 2022.The cool thing about Austin Blythe is he was always a team first player. He fit exactly what The Rams & Sean Mcvay have been built around.
Bobby Wagner coming from Seattle was fun having for a season & what he represented.
The interesting thing will be how good Ernest Jones is moving forward from that mentorship & how they prepared together.
A Center & a MLB(green dot) are very similar in knowledge of Defense or Offense.
—I know Austin Blythe was very involved with mentoring & helping Brian Allen learn the defense to set the Adjust at the line of scrimmage. My guess is he did the same with Creed at KC.
—Wagner had a All-Pro type of season for his age.He was limited, but I appreciated what he brought game in & game out.
