Look, the Rams are 6-5. They've lost several close games (last second missed field goal, for instance) that they would have won last season. They've had many more injuries than last season. It's not a horrible collapse, it's one of those things to expect when the team has been built up so quickly and don't have a ton of depth. They made some gambles that didn't work out. Other teams have made adjustments - yet the Rams still have a winning record.

I'm prepared for the Rams to not win every personnel gamble. They still win more than they lose. I'm prepared for the Rams to make adjustments, to be healthier, and to fill in the most blatant holes.

Will they be one of the best teams in the league next year? I don't know. I would expect them to be very good again either next year or the year after. At worst I expect them to be above average (again!) next season.

Fix the OL, find a RB on the cheap and get McVay to makes some tweaks to the play design and the Rams are back in form.
I you add in get more production out of the tight ends and hope goff improves. that takes care of the offence leaving only the df.

I've been feeling that way for a couple months . Just last year I thought it was the start of great run , but then the contracts came due . I realize you have to pay your best players ,but it's hard to build a team when over half your cap is tied up in 5 guys . Then when 3 of the 5 have a bad year it gets ugly.
I didn't understand the Ramsey trade . Is he that big of an upgrade over Peter's ? I would've thought a trade for a stud Oline man or two was what they needed . Gotta have faith in McVay and Snead but I haven't seen many adjustments since the super bowl. Buffalo's offense looks like the 17 and 18 Rams they way you have no idea what's coming next . Our offense is stale and hard to watch . The defense had us fooled against poor QB's , although after Winston put 55 on them I knew they weren't top 10 or even 15. The Ravens looked like men against boys the entire game. I don't have the solution to everything we've seen so I hope they get it figured out . I'll still watch every game like the past 50 years , but another long slump would be hard to take . Go Rams

Your concerns are valid, we have spent a lot of equity for what is certainly a return that is at the moment not at the value of the cost.

Peters was used outside his strengths here and is now in a more comfortable role where he is able to freelance and play to his ability

Rams win, lose, or draw.
Support the team no matter what, especially through the losses.
We should all be battle hardened and weathered in the event of losing seasons.

I’m all in regardless the of the record , but for the Rams and my grandsons sake please find a way to pay Cooper Kupp
He will probably be a hot commodity so hopefully he’ll give the Rams a bit of a discount.

yeah when you are as old as dirt can't handle a long slump. that's me that is old as dirt.

Im as die hard as they come. After finally crawling out of the cellar , I hate the thought of another stent in there. Winning feels good and losing sucks.

Am I prepared for another bullshit decade of losing? No, not at all.

McVay is too smart and talented. Rams FO is solid. Owner is willing to spend $.

Not sure that our “dynasty” aspirations will pan out, but I doubt we’re headed for dark times.

If they hire the right coaches we will be fine. If they fix the o line we will be fine
If they fix the df front line we will be fine
If they get a qb coach for Goff he will be fine.
So see...?
We will be fine.
Go Rams!

I’ve been thinking a lot about this.

I’ve been watching the rams since 95 when they first came to St.Louis. I haven’t missed a televised game in over 20 years. I’ve dealt with the highs of the greatest show on earth, to 15 years of suck...to losing my team to another city, back to the high...and now the in between, the part where we could go one of two directions.

Are you prepared for potentially another shitty 10 years? We aren’t exactly built for long term success, we don’t have the pics or money. No one can question the loyalty I’ve had....but as I think about it, I honestly don’t know if I can handle it. I would probably stop watching football. Idk

Has anyone else thought of this?

Disclaimer—for all you asshats that love to be dramatic. I’m not saying they are going to suck. I’m just asking a hypothetical. My god, I made a comment about how Peters has been a stud since leaving and didn’t think we would win and the people giving me the “difference of opinion” shit was funny. I don’t need that again. Bringing down my ratings!

I think this is way overstated.

The Rams just recently got rid of bad contracts when they dealt Ogletree, Quinn, and Austin.

They also lacked picks after the Goff trade.

So they were still able to address areas of need after dumping those contracts and more importantly they drafted well. And that team had very few top level players or young talent to build around.

Worse case they have a year where money is tight (next year), but then they can move on from Cooks and Gurley... Or maybe someone takes a paycut or restructures to stay.

New CBA will likely help as well capwise.

So I think they will rebalance their payroll by letting Fowler and possibly Littleton walk, Whitworth retires, and with a number of other FAs like Christian, Bortles, Blythe etc... They will get comp picks to replenish the 2021 draft class. Littleton and Fowler should both get them 3rd rounders.

I could also see them tag Fowler and trade him to get a 2nd round pick this year.... Of course he better start making more plays to do that.

So the doom and gloom is overstated. Key is to keep developing the youth on the OL and the LB/Edge corp.... And of course draft well. In the draft beef up the DL, add another OL/C, and a deep threat at WR, and that should do it. Oh, and add a damn FB!

I miss some games, because I have to work and family obligations, but I always go back and watch. Let me rephrase that. I will always go back and watch. I'm a Ram fan.

This is where my head is at. Whatever we need to do, we have a core to build around... and there are ways to do it.

Just last year, they were ready to run Harbaugh out of Baltimore. Teams retool fast in the NFL... if you have the GM and coach to do it.

ya know that l

ya know that sounds easy just develop the youth draft dl, ol, wr and fb. only problem is that according to those supporting the ramsey trade is even if you have 1st round picks it is still a crap shoot. plus teams with fewer holes and more resourses are doing the samething.
ya know some of us pesssimists need some kind of hope so keep up the good vibes and maybe we can find a place in the middle

The thing that bugs me is that after Chicago and then the debacle in the SB last year... It seems like 0 adjustments were made. McVay talked about wanting to come back stronger and better from that "learning experience." But here we are, repeating the same thing over and over week after week. I just don't get it.
It's like we have the 4 same Tecmo Bowl playcalls on offense and no desire to mix it up. Idk whats going on, but it sucks.

I don't see any fight in 90% of the guys out there. The only one on offense with any fire is Woods. Everyone else looks like they are just going thru the motions. The body language out there is just awful.
