I ran several scenarios several times.

Assuming the Rams beat Arizona in the final week and no upsets the Seattle game is irrelevant.

Rams will be playing Seattle wildward weekend #3 vs #6 the only thing Sundays game determines is division winner. We will still face Seattle wildcard weekend.

Looks right to me. I guess I'd rather have the #3 seed (and the 3rd div title in 4 years) but then we would get into a situation trying to beat a team 3 times in one season, always tough to do.

Bottom line; Rams fans lets enjoy this the next month plus is going to be enjoyable as a Rams fan.

We are inconsistent but we can play with anyone. Just have to be READY to play from the opening kick-off. Remember Big Whitt coming back too, thats a huge spark. And I do think Note has played well too...but Whitt is an upgrade...

If we lose our last two games we don’t deserve a playoff spot .. simple. After today‘s loss I’m taking any further progress we make this season as a bonus.
I hate to agree with this but it's true. I'm the ultimate optimist when it comes to my Rams. But if we lose the last two, playoffs would be a consolation prize and likely nothing more.

Chances are that the Rams will have already clinched a playoff spot prior to the Seahawks game. If Cards beat 49ers on Saturday, Rams clinch

Negative.
Nope he is right. Is Arizona beats the whiners and then they only have one game left against us. If we go into that game both having the same record at 9-6, one team likely ends up 10-6 and one 9-7. if we end up 9-7 the only teams left that can be 9-7 are Chicago and Tampa and with all 3 being in different divisions and we beat both teams, we are in.

We win and are 10-6 and in. We tie and we are in with one less loss at 9-6-1.

Am I missing something?

This whole thing is weird this year. How about AZ loses and we don't have to worry about it? :) Or should I say, Chicago?

Or we win 1 of 2 and we're in. Of course they should come out on fire, win the last two games and act like a real playoff team.

I remember thinking like this back in 1979 when the Rams were on a similar rollercoaster run. Never knew for sure which team would show up, and they lost to the Aints (a shitty team back then) in the last game of the season at home. Ferragamo had a bad game (40 rating), and 2 games before that in a win where he was replaced by a backup....Vince ended up with an 8 qb rating, no not 80...just Eight!! And Bob Lee took over and won it against a below-avg Viking team. Some think Goff is Dr. Jekyll... Vince was way worse at the end of that season. And then the playoff magic happened.

So yeah we looked like shit vs Jets, but we never really know what we gonna do in the postseason. All the losses this year the Rams were favored to win, and have the better talent (could argue on Buffalo though). There won't be any whiners or jets in the playoffs to look past or be unmotivated by.

The NFC playoff picture entering Week 16, and what's at stake for the Rams

The Rams are still in the playoff picture by way of the top wild card spot (No. 5 seed) despite Sunday's loss to the Jets. However, a big road game against the Seahawks this weekend looms with division and playoff implications.

Here is a look at the NFC playoff picture heading into Week 16:

1. Green Bay Packers (11-3): A 24-16 win over the Panthers and the Chiefs' 32-29 victory over the Saints fortified the Packers' hold of the top seed in the conference.

2. New Orleans Saints (10-4): The return of starting quarterback Drew Brees wasn't enough for New Orleans to overcome the absence of star wide receiver Michael Thomas in a narrow 32-29 loss to top AFC seed Kansas City. Thomas was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to a lingering ankle injury but is expected to be close to full strength by the start of the playoffs, according to multiple reports.

3. Seattle Seahawks (10-4): Although it led by 17 early in the third quarter, Seattle had to survive a fourth-quarter rally by Washington to come away with a 20-15 victory at FedExField. The win clinched a playoff berth for the Seahawks and, along with the Rams' loss to the Jets, also moved them into first place in the NFC West and the NFC's No. 3 seed.

4. Washington Football Team (6-8): Despite Sunday's loss to Seattle, Washington still held on to first place in the NFC East thanks to the Cleveland Browns defeating the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football.

5. Los Angeles Rams (9-5): Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Jets knocked the Rams down to second place in the NFC West and prevented them from clinching a playoff spot. Up next for Los Angeles: A road game at Seattle with another shot at securing that playoff berth, with both teams also vying for the division title.

6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-5): The Bucs defeated the Falcons 31-27 via a 17-point comeback to earn their second-straight win and remain in contention for a wild card spot. While Tampa Bay's record is identical to Los Angeles, L.A. owns the top wild card spot due to head-to-head tiebreaker (Week 11).

7. Arizona Cardinals (8-6): The Cardinals also won their second consecutive game and maintained control of their wild card slot thanks to a 33-26 win over the Eagles.

In the hunt: Chicago Bears (7-7); Minnesota Vikings (6-8); New York Giants (5-9); Dallas Cowboys (5-9); Philadelphia Eagles (4-9-1).

What's on the line for the Rams in Week 16: A win over the Seahawks would clinch a playoff spot and move the Rams back into first place in the division via division record tiebreaker (Los Angeles would be 3-2, Seattle 2-3). The Rams can also clinch a playoff spot with a Cardinals win or tie over the 49ers or a Bears loss or tie to the Jaguars.

Here is another funny.

If Packers lose to Tennessee (very possible) and @Bears (Bears playing better)
If Rams beat Seattle and Zona (been there done that)
If Saints lose to Minnesota (Brees broken, Thomas on IR)

Then Rams get #1 seed.

:fistbump:

Yeah... I remember that team and the ducks Farragamo would throw. I also realize anything can happen in the playoffs and wouldn't give up hope. But I still hold that you severely limit your chances when you limp into the playoffs.
Cheers and GO RAMS!!!

This is crazy, low % chance of happening but wouldn't that be something if it did unfold.

This has been a mighty upset time of year (Shits-Rams, Bungles-Squealers) so anything is still possible.

Backing in is never what you want to see when you were in first place just a few weeks earlier. But its a whole new season come playoff time. You have to get there first. Then worry about what to do with it.

Every possible opponent is beatable if they don't have to travel to Green Bay in the first round.

Hmmmm
Cardinals Will be 9-6.
If the Rams lose to the Seahawks, we are 9-6.
Cards Beat the Rams and they are 10-6.

Seahawks win the division, Cards get a wild card.
Rams are 9-7

So we have Saints, Seahawks, Packers + NFC East winner
Cards get one wild card 10-6
Bucs need one game and are in at 10-6
Only one left that could be 9-7 is the Bears so yeah your right..
If Cards lose we could miss but if they win, we're in...

so weirds.

I was wrong

If the Rams lose the next 2 games and go 2-4 in the division then they DONT deserve to make the playoffs. I don’t care about what if’s. Do we really want a 9-7 team that ended with a 3 game losing streak to make the playoffs.
