Last night's loss assured they won't be division champs for the first time since 2015!!! Nine straight divisions titles, 7 with Mahomes, 2 with Alex Smith, all with Andy Reid. Going into this weekend there were 11 AFC teams with a legit shot at the postseason. I think we can forget Cincinnati at 4-9. Indianapolis is going to have to have a remarkable performance by Riley Leonard to make the postseaon. I think that may be asking too much. Baltimore has 7 losses now and they looked like crappola yesterday, though I thought that reversal on the Likely TD was bizarre. Even if we say Cincinnati is done, Indianapolis and Baltimore are on their way to being done that still leaves 8 teams. Let's say New England and Buffalo are going to get in. Pittsburgh in the North. Jacksonville and Houston in the South. Then the Chiefs have to hope the Chargers shit the bed. And that is quite possible. They play Philly tonight, @ Kansas City next week, @ Dallas, vs Houston and finish @Denver (who may be resting players by then to save LAC). Kansas City plays the Chargers, Tennessee, Denver and Las Vegas. I can see a scenario where they win 4 to get to 10-7. And the tiebreaker will probably come down to common opponents, which won't bode well for the Chargers. This bears watching because everybody is counting KC out and they might shock some folks. I wouldn't bet on it but......

Until they are officially done, I cant rule them out
Will 10 wins do it?
The Bills are almost a lock to get 11 wins, games against Cleveland and the Jets remain
The Texans have a pretty easy path to 11 wins, Cards, Raiders and Colts with no D Jones
I dont see an easy 3 wins for the Chargers, so that spot is there for the taking

They might squeak into the playoffs if they are lucky. The AFC is really weak this year so anything can happen. But I'd be surprised if they made it. Even if they do they'll get knocked out by the first decent defense they play. AFC just has some really awful offenses... but a lot of really good defenses.

The entire Chiefs organization checked out last night. Really bizarre!

That's what I'm thinking. We'll see how they play tonight. And of course, next week vs the Chiefs.

I don't think they checked out..... They were still trying to score on the last possession, even though the game was well out of reach.

The Chiefs have always been living on the edge, I can't count how many games they have won by the skin of their teeth, and they are now showing their age.

At some point you'll need to protect Mahomes for next season (an keep him healthy when he becomes a Ram in 2028) and get that knee checked out.

Time for KC to close shop on 2025.

I'll admit that the defense played well but the offense, including Andy, stunk!
Mahommes tried but the line and especially the receivers were terrible. Looked like they weren't even trying!

They have some hard hitting DB's

Maybe Snead can take a gander and see if we can get one or two of them next season.

Yup, Chiefs are done this year. And maybe no longer Superbowl contenders for a while. But as long as they have Reid and Mahomes they'll have a chance to be playoff contenders. There's also that Superbowl loser's jinx thing. Happened to the last two losers.

Super bowl hangovers are real. So are teams that hold on to that nostalgia of hoping the old boys have one more good season in them. It's a common theme that we see time and time again. The real question does Andy Reid have it in him to reinvent himself, and make the appropriate changes needed to get his team back into the fold.

I have a feeling he doesn't...

This is the effect of Asshole Face and Harbaugh joining the division. You have three high end HCs which puts that division at the top of the NFL pile, along with our division (which also has three).

Stetson Bennett and a 3rd rounder ought to do it!!
I suppose we could throw Tutu in there as well.

The question is does he even have anything left to prove to himself, or is he ready to get out of the grind and just relax. I think he's just tired and ready to step away.
