Its a good movie and my wife loved it. It does follow the "A Football Life" documentary pretty well minus the Euro League which I assume was cut for time.
The Rams are there as the team that it all happened around. Technically they could have told the same story with a fake team.
My wife's God Mother loved it as well. Said she cried and wants to watch it with me again. Very sweet lady.
Well said they could have told the same story with a fake team. I thought the same about cutting the history with the Euro League for time. Although it was an essential part of Kurt's rise to be our starting QB.
It certainly is a great story we all know and hold on to dearly. Not many get to have an experience we all had in 1999.
It was truly magical.
When Matthew wins the 2021 SB, they can start planning the screenplay for that movie. If you want a Hollywood sports movie, ya gotta come to the Horns to play ball!
I took the whole family to see it and there are two different perspectives. My wife and three kids (17, 19, & 21) liked the movie and were able to enjoy the story presented because they did not know any of the detailed history, so the missing elements did not matter to them. My perspective as a Rams fan it is that it was lacking a bit in depth by leaving out some key historical elements as noted above but it was still an enjoyable watch. It was refreshing to see a modern move that did not try to insert the liberal Hollywood snowflake ideology into the story, which is so prevalent in most new movies (even historical ones).
I am still a big fan of Kurt Warner. For those that get angry at Kurt, remember that he is the one who was crapped-on by the Rams and their front office &%$#-show at the time. After the way he was treated, I do not begrudge Kurt for his lack of love for the Rams organization. Looking back on it, I do not think much of the some of the key front office figures that were a part of sacking Warner, and I could see how their actions could tarnish a whole organization from a player's perspective. Kurt took the high road and ultimately, he proved to be a man of character IMO. How many of you have been underappreciated/unappreciated by your employer and then gushed about how great it was to be part of that organization, even after a management change. I have been a Rams fan for a long time and the last part of the Martz regime through Linehan and Spagnuolo were the darkest days of the Rams Franchise. Even darker than the 90-98 run. It really makes me appreciate what we now have in terms of Coaching, FO, and ownership with the Rams.

Yeah that and All Madden, can't find either, everything says trailer. Been recently free streaming Boba Fett, Peacemaker, Squid games, Cleaning Lady, and No Way Home but could never find those 2.
Glad they didn't. With Invincible and a few other movies the NFL has released the tight copyright hold they had back in the day. I hated when the horns were airbrushed off from the old football cards!
Dont know about Madden, but the problem for Underdog is that no streaming service has even picked up the rights to it. So it cant be streamed until someone does. No pay per view, on demand, or sign up for trial with _____
Amazon has it on "pre order", with only purchase option. Crazy. I guess none of them see the value in it

Still playing in theaters, so it's probably one of those that you could see streaming from a guy with a baseball cap camera or wait until the dvd is out. I saw the last few Marvel movies while they were still in theaters when some guy released his in-theater recording. If you're okay with some darkness and lower video quality, or seeing someone's shadow getting up. Some would prefer to wait for higher quality.
For any interested in All-Madden, I signed up with Peacock for free to see it but then got a pop-up that they only offered that doc with paid subscription.
Lionsgate distributed the movie I think. Don't they have ownership in Starz? Maybe it'll probably show up on that network like all those Warner movies go to HBOmax. The thing doesn't even come out on blu-ray until the end of next month, so I'm not surprised it's not even streaming yet. They have all those release windows between theatrical, physical media, and digital release. Covid just blurred the lines on all that in recent times.
This isnt actually true, the streaming rights for the film havent been picked up yet, which is why it cant be found online. And it's the opposite of what you said in regards to Covid. Because of Covid all films are being released with streaming rights already in place. Which is why you can see most movies the day they come out online, whether by purchase rental or even if totally blocked, Like Tom Cruise films, they will at least be shown as "coming soon". This film being released in limited theatres, without streaming rights is totally bizarre and unlike every other film being released.
Well, actually you cant do that either, because without streaming rights in place none of the sites that show "free" movies can show even the bootlegs. And where streaming rights have been procured, (which is every other film other than AU) there are times that a cam view is available until a full HD version is. That isnt the case here either. I'd personally wait for the HD version, but at least checking to see cam vs HD is a better option than it just not having enough national interest
No, that's what I mean. Y'all are expecting streaming rights concurrent with theatrical release because that's what they started doing with covid. It wasn't always like that. As for streaming rights, I was just making a guess. I guess they could separate distribution based on media type. No clue how that works, but I know physical media is distributed by different companies overseas sometimes.
The question is why? What separates this movie from every other motion picture being released right now? Strange. You'd think they'd want a wide net around this, instead it seems more like a gag order

Not the same thing as a stream. that's what is so strange. Netflix and others think the Indie flicks they get rights to will get better audience than a movie about an NFL superstar, during the playoffs no less?
Well, the Fandango website Vudu is saying available for rent on Feb 22nd. Pretty sad that they missed out on such a great opportunity.

Rest assured with all the streaming venues out there, I can guarantee Lionsgate was asked about the movie, but I would wager they see the crowd as an older "Passion of the Christ" type evangelical church crowd with some football fans mixed in, but they've super downplayed the football aspect of it (which is super strange to me... they didn't shy away from the hockey in Miracle)
It will be on streaming at some point, but their calculus is likely that they need the exclusive box prior to streaming because in their estimation, it's the biggest market and you can only get it when it opens.
Plus the football playoffs are going on right now and they're likely banking on folks still wanting more football fix (again, strange seeing as they de-emphasized the football aspect)
But yeah, this is 100% on Lionsgate, for better or worse.
