The late / great Rich Saul.

Waited until his 6th season to start (back-in-the-day). Then started for seven seasons, without missing a game; and went to the Pro Bowl in the final six of those seasons.
And was known as SUPE because he was a super sub who you could plug in all along the O line and not worry about him performing at a high level.

I truly believe the Rams may soon have an opportunity to field their best OL of the season. I know this sounds crazy, but LT may actually be better with Jackson starting, and RG could prove better with Aboushi than with either Shelton or Jackson at that position. If Allen returns to replace Kolone at Center, we are almost done with our re-build, ... only LG Evans needs his replacement, and Shelton may just be an improvement over both Edwards & Evans in this spot. Yes, it's a pretty positive take that I'm not sure McVay/Carberry will follow, but with a couple weeks to prepare, I like our odds better than what we've been going with. jmo.

I hope Aboushi pans out. The 7 teams in 8 years thing has me a little concerned. It will be interesting to see how he affects the running game on the right side. I like Aleric next to Rob.

However I also like Aleric at OLT too. Shelton had a really bad game a few weeks ago iirc. I still think he’s back up material. Allen may be slightly above backup material but I agree, that this may be the best Oline assemblage so far this season.

Jourdan mentioned Andre Dillard as a possible trade target and then maybe moving Jackson to left guard and keeping Aboushi at right guard.

Your thought on Boom was closer to being correct than my thought on him....

Wait, you mean the deep post that Stafford threw it way past him? That ball was uncatchable. You could make an argument that he ran the wrong route, but you can't really say he didn't track it well. That ball was 15 yards past him and behind him.

For Reference, that pass is at 3:55 into the video linked below:

Yes, and he looked lost out there. I think he's great in his current role as an underneath WR and FB. He's a square peg in a round hole when it comes to trying to make him a deep threat.

Shelton's bad game was at Center, and he didn't look great at RG either imo, ... I've thought for awhile that his best position might be at LG while retaining that reserve Center role.
Aboushi will be a success story by just holding his own, keeping defenders off of Stafford, and maybe help open some space occasionally for our RB's, I don't think anyone is expecting Brandon Scherff.
Why would the 6-0 Eagles consider trading Dillard ?

I guess we will disagree on that play, to me it is hard to say a receiver is lost on a play if the pass is 15 yards past him. And if that is the only other evidence beside the one endzone pass, I will continue with my belief that it is a false narrative that he can't track the deep ball. I reserve the right to change my opinion if he looks lost on future deep passes. LOL

I guess he’s on the bench. He was beat out for his position.

So, if the qb targets the wr more he will have more catches and yards. It's a wild theory.
Its not rocket science as many of us have been saying. Look at 4 of his catches on Sunday, he was the first read in all of them. McVay can do a better job of scheming him into touches to make us more balanced. Kupp doesn't need to be read #1 in 100% of our plays. ARob has been getting open this year he just needs his ops.

Those Ops should come with improved OL play, we know given proper time Stafford will hit his man.

"Put it on the shelf where no kids can play with it!" Funny line from the WR coach. Cool image to describe AR reaching up to high-point the ball.
Hoping there's a lot more of that coming in the next couple years too. :thumbsup1:

ARob is our red zone jumper. I don’t think we had a decent one since Watkins. Those fades need to be used more, and give him those opps for contested jump balls. We should be smashing the 9ers with those…

I remember Watkins having very strong hands which were a weapon in the red zone but I don’t remember him being able to high point the ball. But my memory ain’t so good these days.

Sure, on the jumper thing.. but he's got to be much more than that and this weekend showed he can be. They worked him into the scheme to be used multiple ways in the offseason and finally deployed that. It's a hell of a lot harder to just defend for the jump when you don't know whether he's going to slash in on you.. and if you have him operating from all over the foundation.
Was a well called game.

Robinson probably just needs to relax and play his game. The TD with the facemask he was trying too damn hard to shake the DB at the LOS when he didn't need to. Facemask or no he probably doesn't catch that ball because he wasn't in position due to trying too hard to shake the DB. Ball comes in just as he's trying to turn his head. If he instead goes right into the DB's space and then turns in and puts his body in the way it's a TD.

So I think this offense is his dream offense, it means a lot to him given the way he's always been in offenses with shit QBs. And I think he's trying to master this offense and he'll get there. And when he does he's going to be an old reliable for us like Kupp is. He is obviously just not a wideout who is smart enough to pick everything up quickly in this attack. Guys learn at different speeds.

Some of it is out of his control with the QB too. He'll get there though. I honestly have zero doubts about Robinson. We're gonna feel him it's just a matter of time. He is too good a receiver, and too perfect a fit for Stafford, for that to not happen.
