When I was a kid, I listened to KISS ALIVE II (double album) front to back about 800 times.

Now I just burn my own playlists. Haven't really had a CD in a long time.

Have you listened to Pink Floyd's The Final Cut album? It's basically a prelude to Waters Pro's and Cons album.

Eric Clapton does some great work on Pro's and Cons. Good stuff.

Actually is my favorite floyd album. You really have to like Waters though to get into the Final Cut.

Man! What was the album that had Old Time Rock n Roll on it? I listened to that thing constantly. Blew out my brother's speakers on that album. Consequently, he won't let me near the volume control on the system in his man cave - what is it 35 - 40 years later? Of course he's one of those audiophile nuts with the chairs positioned exactly right and has spent several thousands on that stuff. Me - I cringed at spending over $400 on a pair of speakers.

Howdy, PHX. I grew up skiing at Lake Mojave, so I will adapt. Was a bit toasty though (95). Likin' it, and trying to get situated here in PV. Hopefully the gear will be delivered early next week. Will get a couple of gorillas to help off-load. Will then find a job that doesn't interfere with Rams football.

REM did good work both before and after Life's Rich Pageant, but for me that album was the one that really hit home. Every song is good, except for the ones that are great.

Oh, and about XTC? Their former lead guitarist, Dave Gregory, is now the lead guitarist for another one in my list, Big Big Train. They don't sound anything like each other though

My younger brother turned me on to Marillion because he knew I loved King Crimson and Genesis. A very tasty, underrated band. And Kerry Livgren was the guitarist for Kansas. who went off on his own after butting heads with singer Steve Walsh. Check out his guitar work beginning at 2:02



Didn't care for early XTC but love 'Oranges and Lemons' and 'Skylarking.' For those who haven't heard Dave Gregory's guitar work, who also played with Peter Gabriel and Porcupine Tree, here's a sampling...starts at 2:09.
