I rewatched the playoffs (not the Superbowl) and Cam Akers was running extremely aggressively and finding the holes.

I don't know what is wrong with him this year but he is clearly missing the holes this year especially that one that was 5 yards wide.

He may need another year to get to 100%.
Realistically, he may never be the same anyway.

That Achilles injury, could have easily been career ending.
Especially for a RB.

I also see a bit of Gurley when he runs now. In a bad way.

This whole thing is just bizarre. I really like Akers as a person and has shown flashes in the past. But this year he just doesn't seem to have head in it. I hope everything is alright in his personal life.

"Personal reasons" in today's NFL is when you're benched for calling out the head coach. :laugh4:

I don't know what's going on with Cam, but at what point do the players step in and say enough is enough.

As bad as Cam may be, we would have been a better team against the Whiners had he been on the field.

Thoughts?

Rewarding “me first”?

I’ll pass. But, who knows?

Hopefully he gets it that if McVay calls his number again that he’s playing for his future, not just his next contract.

He’s got two choices now, ball out or be out.

I don't hate the idea of keeping Cam and making him ride the bench. But we still should have added another back.

Ok.
So he wasn't traded and he hasn't been cut, yet.
We also didn't make a deal for another back.

If he isn't cut within the next day or so, one might believe he may be staying.
Is there an amicable solution, which would keep him in horns?

did we ever hear what McSnead wanted for Akers?...what if the Rams were wanting a second or third for him, probably knowing nobody was going to go there...serving a bit of humble pie as Akers sees all these other backs getting valued....so now, does Akers get a chip on his shoulder to show the league what 31 teams just passed on? Is the damage with McVay and the team too much to overcome? Is Akers even that player that was taken in the second round anymore? Speaking as a Ram fan who knows we need a running game, I hope he does and I hope he is......

I dunno, but Akers said he’s not playing for the Rams again.

does he change his mind? Will McVay trust him?

unlikely as Akers said that he doesn’t think it’s best for his future to play again this year.

I dunno who’s giving him advice, but wooooof
