That's not true at all. He's on the last year of his deal, they have salary cap issues and also have to figure out what they're doing with QB. They'd be crazy to not trade him.
Gotta disagree here. Just don't see a 4-1 team trading their best player.

I have.
Zero sense.
Neither would the Rams… so.. how high is that pick?
The Giants have 3 games to play prior to the deadline. Last week win against GB was a fluke. they lose all 3, it makes zero sense to keep Barkley. The team is in total rebuild. I dont know what his price would be, or if Rams could even pay it. The Giants would be stupid to keep him because there's no way they re-sign him, but stupid is as stupid does

They've got 3 games to play before the trade deadline, never said they'd trade for him now
True but I gotta think the Giants will ask for a boatload from whatever team tries to pluck Saquon from them. I just don't see it happening, but that's just my opinion. If it happens, it would be crazy news. Rams always keeping us on our toes lately with trades tho so I'm quietly eating popcorn waiting for our next move hahahaha

There's no plucking, they need assets. Barkley will be gone after the year and thanks to the fluke win or 2, the Giants may find themselves out of the top 10. Look no further than Von Miller to see what contenders might pay for him at the deadline. (Which is in 3 game weeks)

You are way more optimistic for me on that one lol....no way Giants don't demand a lot for Saquon plus he'll want to get paid cuz he's balling out this year. Think the Rams will be gun shy there after their Todd Gurley experience.

Unfortunately for the Rams, Cam Akers' trade value is at its all-time low. It might actually be at or near 0...

Even at the best of times, teams will be hesitant to give up assets for a running back that is coming off of an achilles injury.

In Akers' case, that RB has now put together some pretty awful film since returning from injury, even if there are some mitigating factors, such as the Rams' patchwork o-line. Worse, Akers has developed somewhat of a fumbling problem, and rightly or wrongly, might well be labelled as a malcontent now due to his apparent falling out with McVay.

He looked great pre-injury, and was well-regarded heading into the NFL draft, so it would not surprise me if some team is willing to give up a nominal asset for Akers, to ensure that they get to take a flier on him, rather than risk missing out on Akers if they must compete with several other teams for his services after being cut.

But rest assured, any trade return for Akers will be nominal.

Hopefully, the Rams' impeccable pro scouting team can identify a "bust" on another roster that can excel here, as they did with Corbett. "Nominal" trade returns can surprise you. But you can't count on that happening every time.

For a team with limited draft capital, the Rams' earlier draft picks are becoming busts with troubling regularity...

Rapoport has a full article up about Akers on NFL.com.

"The belief is that he'll draw significant trade interest, and the team is open to a deal for the right value."

So, is this another McVay/Goff deal, where McVay wants more than Akers can give?

If so, then there was a serious misevaluation on Akers mental side of things. He’s proven to have the physical ability but it did take him quite a few games to show it.

Now it just feels like he is fed up with being pushed.

Maybe his heart is not into it anymore. He wouldn’t be the first player to feel like that.

Another bad/wasted high draft pick. Maybe they do need to trade all their high picks.

So weird to me. Is Cam really that much of a head case?? Same dude that worked so hard to come back mere months after an Achilles tear?? Gotta be more to this. It seems like there has been weird, undisclosed drama in this clubhouse the last few years. I don't like it

The only reason would be if someone significantly overpays.

They’ll get a comp pick if he keeps playing like he does and someone signs them.

The goodwill they would lose and crutch that’s allowing Jones to succeed wouldn’t be worth it.

I guess the the odds are greater than zero… but I wouldn’t move him for less than a first.

Due to injury though. No one in the NFL can predict injuries.
Well he’s not getting traded (or wanting to be traded). due to injury.

In the NFL now, I would NEVER draft a RB in the first two rounds of the draft. Even 3rd is questionable.
