I’m ok with moving on from Kupp (as much as it would suck) but only if it’s for someone like Garrett Wilson. If the plan would just be to slot in Demarcus/Tutu/Whittington to the other 2 spots, I’d rather keep Kupp.
Would love to see the Rams make a play for Garrett Wilson and he seems like he wants to play for McVay.

Let’s make this happen Les!

To be fair. Stafford played the last few games with four cracked ribs
Good point. Forgot about that.

But that fact also illustrates why I don't like to blame results on injuries. When you have an older (offensive) roster, injuries become more likely.

How realistic is a trade?
Kupp has a guaranteed roster bonus 7.5 mill
Salary (non guaranteed) 12.5 mill
Kupp has a dead cap hit of 9.8 mill if he stays a Ram in 2025
Kupp has 17.3 dead money due if cut or traded (prior to June 1)

So a team trades for him and agrees to take on the roster bonus and salary, the Rams take a hit of 17.3 mill instead of the full 29.8. Sounds great but who wants to pay him 20 mill?? I cant imagine many, and likely for nothing more than a late round pick swap
Or
Rams eat the 7.5 bonus + the 17.3 dead cap, 24.8 hit and a team "only" pays him 12.5 mill for 2025 (non guaranteed salary/bonus in 2026)
For that I could see a team coughing up a 4th rounder

Stafford, Kupp, Havenstien, Robinson, Higbee 5/11.

Its not all old. But it is at key positions. The biggest being QB TE WR.

Some like to say old, I say experienced. You have to have some veteran leadership that has been through the wars.

Getting rid of him might have more to do with getting him completely off the books this year so in 26' they have more room to extend guys like Nacua, Turner, Avilla, Young, maybe Lake, etc..

Maybe but, assuming Nacua, Turner, Avila and Young (all 2023 draft picks) receive extensions in 2026, those deals would not kick in until 2027.

Well, if they designate him as a post June cut, then his dead cap extends to 26', and then 27' he is off the books. Just a thought, especially if Stafford is back and impacting the cap in 26'& 27'.

It's about price as well- when I looked at the free agent WR list

It was underwhelming and probably overpriced.
I think it's a pretty good free agent list. And this current draft has tons of receivers with his ceiling and a higher floor.

I said the draft was a possibility.

Free agent headliners old and expensive.
