I think of things that I used to eat in restaraunts which I no longer do. Not because I no longer like the foods, because they are no longer my first choice. In other words, they are too simple for most of us now. I used to eat club sandwiches everywhere for lunch, but I haven't had one in at least ten years. Ham and cheese sandwiches are wonderful, but I can't remember the last time I ordered one. We now like fancy burgers, sushi, and other fast foods. If it's a sandwich that we get, normally it's a sub of some kind with the choice of four different artisinal breads and multiple different ingredients and condiments.
It applies to other snack foods as well. I just had ritz crackers and peanut butter, and I haven't had that for years. I am fatigued and so I didn't want to cook anything. But even in a snack machine, the lonely peanut butter and crackers option is WAY down on the list of snacks to buy. I normally get a Snickers bar or a Nestles Crunch bar or a different chocolate bar. I even get Reeses peanut butter cups before I'd ever consider PB and crackers.
We are all just kinda uppitty, now.... lol
