So the Rams loaded Cooks contract to hit especially hard in 2019 and 2020. Goff's 5th year option would be for the 2020 season and as the #1 pick in the draft - won't come cheap if he plays under that option instead of an extension.

I wonder if the negotiations at this point have evolved to when the money comes in more so than how much money we are talking about.

Absolutely, and was one of the points I was trying to make at some point in this thread. Is that the argument that you can't pay a DT the money AD wants because you have to pay the QB. And that is true but if you were going to now is the time to do it while you don't have a QB to pay. They've got a couple of years to offload some huge contracts to people deserving of them before they slap a huge price tag on Goffs neck. That's why I'm ok with paying AD now. Of course, if something happened like say Goff wins MVP and a super bowl this year shit could get really ugly fast if his agent starts demanding a new contract sooner than later lol.

I met Aaron Donald at training camp the last year they were in St. Louis. Its a pretty epic story, really. I was sitting in a chair diligently taking notes (because when you get to go to camp its your duty to write detailed reports). AD came up the hill to do an interview with DeMarco who was sitting about 10 yards away from me. As he walked up the hill thru the crowd, I yelled in my biggest fanboy voice - "Aaron!!" He just kept walking - probably didn't hear me. It was awesome.

Really? Man they usually turn around and walk the opposite direction from me, especially those that know me.

You'd be in trouble if the stats were tabulated..I ignored this thread for at least 50 pages of it...lol
