This “Best 5 linemen” on the OL really gets on my nerves.

I don’t want the best five overall linemen to start games; I want the best LT at LT, the best LG at LG, the best C at C, the best RG at RG and the best RT at RT.

That makes too much sense.

I don't get the Noteboom stuff. I'm kind of annoyed and over him. He's fragile, and soft. I want to start rebuilding the OL with mean dudes.
I don't think Boom is soft, he has played some valuable minutes for the Rams as his first game last year at LT was bad, but he recovered and was very good until his injury.

Boom was lights out against Tampa filling in for Whit in that game so he has proven he can play at a high level, but is very injury prone so I understand wanting him out there, I am just not sure Noteboom can play a whole year in any capacity.

Boom was decent against the Bucks because they had zero pass rushers, and played the run extremely well. So I wouldn't use that as a barometer. Every time boom has given an opportunity to be the starter he's gotten injured. I'm not talking about filling in for a couple of games. He either has extremely bad luck or is in-fact soft.

WR is likely these guys if they e keep 6 or 7
Kupp
VJ
TuTu
Puca
BS
Robinson

I think it could come to Xavier or Tyler if the go 7 TJ is a better receiver but X has the ability to play teams.

Injuries have Kept the best 5 OL from playing together in pre season and I am not 100 that was ever the plan
Xavier has looked pretty shaky as a punt return man in the preseason. He struggles to catch the ball cleanly let alone return the punts. Would not be surprised to see Kupp back there again just to fair catch the ball in a lot of situations.

But what if your best LT is also your best RG? Or your best LG is also your best C?
Merely supplying examples, not suggesting each specific to the Rams

Then you see which position has the best second option. If X is both your best LT and RG, he plays at whichever position you have the weaker second choice player.

3) I think Rams are much mor concerned about bringing in a NT type to stop the run moreso than edge and sure seems like they want to wait on that for a bit.

This concerns me a bit because they could have had Marquan McCall and didn't put in a waiver wire.
He's probably better than anyone we have playing NT.

I’m okay with the “best five” mantra, but it needs to get sorted out by the time preseason rolls around. Exceptions like a legit position battle(one position not all five) or injury, late acquisitions withstanding of course.

So you read Jourdan’s latest piece on the OL (“Rams’ ‘best 5’ O-linemen still aren’t playing together — and that could be a problem”) and you’re repackaging it as your own original thoughts/concerns?
Jourdan is stealing my shyte!

Well, I don't like to refer to anyone as soft. Noteboom has received accolades for his workout regime from Andrew Whitworth & Sean McVay and he appears in excellent shape. Now, does he get hurt often? Yes, does that make him soft? IDK, however, after a while when somebody proves their lack of durability, you do need to cut ties and send them on their way.

I've never heard of the guy... perhaps they feel that there's a better player available at cut downs, or not sold on bring someone in yet, or there's a better veteran out there?

Which is how you end up with your best 5
