My dad always thought the worst of Rams QBsRoman Gabriel, all time great QB for the LA RAMS, one of first NFL gunslingers!!!!!!

My Dad still is a New York Giant fan and loved Fran Tarkenton and disliked most others that came after him. He finally admitting to liking Phil Simms, but did not like Eli Manning. My Dad never liked a QB who could not scramble, could not stand Norm Snead or Craig Morton I can still hear him yelling "Move up in the pocket."Me too - I was too young to really remember Roman Gabriel well
Only knew my dad disliked Roman Gabriel
I am 4 years older than you but did'nt really start following sports until I was 10 or 11 even though I played a lot of street football and baseball as a kidMy Dad still is a New York Giant fan and loved Fran Tarkenton and disliked most others that came after him. I was too young for Gabriel also, but he was very special and when the Rams acquired Hadl & then traded Gabriel to Philadelphia I was sad, little did I know that traded worked out for the Los Angeles Rams.

You're the same age as my Uncle (more like a brother) and he got me into football & sports at a young age. I was always playing against kids that were usually 4 years older then me, but my Uncle provided me with information, cards, articles so I picked it up at an early age.I am 4 years older than you but did'nt really start following sports until I was 10 or 11 even though I played a lot of street football and baseball as a kid

I wish the Hadl era had lasted a little longer--after him and Gabe we went a long dry period of mediocre/bad QBs and QB injuries. BUT we got a huge haul for Hadl, and it was well played because his career was done. https://www.sportscasting.com/the-1974-john-hadl-trade-set-the-green-bay-packers-back-two-decades/My Dad still is a New York Giant fan and loved Fran Tarkenton and disliked most others that came after him. Wow! That's like looking in a mirror from yesteryear.Den with his game face on.....
That kills me, but Hadl was 33 at the time same as Gabe. Problem with that was the Rams should have stuck with Ron Jaworski, instead, they went Pat Haden. Haden might have been smarter, but Jaworski was bigger, stronger and had a rifle for an arm.I wish the Hadl era had lasted a little longer--after him and Gabe we went a long dry period of mediocre/bad QBs and QB injuries. No doubt. Jaworski might have been the difference in how we view the Rams in the 70's. We may have missed out on a couple of Super Bowl wins....That kills me, but Hadl was 33 at the time same as Gabe. There were reports about GM Don Klosterman commenting on how inaccurate Jaworski was and at a team function after Klosterman made a comment, Jaworski hit him in the head with a beer can. So that could have been an issue, however, Klosterman drafted Jaworski in the 2nd round in 1973 so he thought highly about him then.No doubt. 28 Days!
That 3 season stretch… Averaged nearly 5.5 ypc, and 850 receiving yards.
The one and only Marshall Faulk.
