McVay needs to reach out to Andy Reid to pick his brain about how to beat that 49ers defense and have Morris pay attention to what Spags did.

The Rams defense held the 9ers offense to fewer points.

That's not the point. It's simply to get ideas on how to attack them and what works. I get we have different personell but just to brainstorm. The Chiefs were the first team to see the Whiners with CMC so it wouldn't hurt for him to pick Spags brain. My mistake for not putting the brainstorm part. I got screaming kids around me too lol

The key?

Do. Something. DIFFERENT.

Both offensively and defensively.

Every game against these guys recently has looked the same. We run the same limited number of offensive plays and on D we give cushions that have our DBs in the next zip code and allow guys like Deebo the Geebo to catch screen passes with no defenders near him him and thus allows him to get a head of steam. Don't do that.

Run a different D. Pull some shit out of the offensive playbook you haven't tried against these guys, and maybe haven't tried at all. But don't come in with the same gameplan you've had for these guys every fucking time since 2020 and expect something different.

The Chiefs also got turnovers from SF, something we never seem to do, save for a pick in the NFCC. Take away the easy stuff from Jimmy and get some turnovers and he'll turn into a spaz like he did against the Chiefs today.

I get what you're saying.

But what works for Spags and that D comes, in part, from knowing the O will go get 30. Taking more risks is fine.. they even talked about that in the broadcast today.

Agree there as the offense is really what has held us back in those Whiner games. However, we should try a few wrinkles in there to try to help change the outcome as these bastards have had our number lately.

The Chiefs used the screen game and jet sweeps to gain huge yards because SF's D line had their ears pinned back. What a novel idea by Andy Reid, eh?

My key to beating the Niners... our OL holding up. We gotta count on: Allen looking good after surgery... Evans looking competent... and a decent game from journeyman Oday Aboushi.

Gulp. Hope these guys got some reps together during the bye week.

Well, the Chiefs probably ruined us running the Jet sweep. I really liked how they set up that 3rd and 20 screen though. That was a great play call. The biggest difference maker was the Chiefs Oline. Ours doesn't look that good. So much of what the Chiefs did won't work for us.

We need the O and D to both step up.

Defense absolutely has to stop the loose coverage BS that gives Jimmy the easy completions. Force him to throw deep. Send some blitzes and overloaded rush pressure like Spags did. Force turnovers. This is opposite to how Morris likes to largely play the game but he really has to think outside the box and stop simplifying the defense so much.

The Offense has to do as described above. Jet sweeps, screens etc to neutralize the pass rush. Some of that counter play action stuff that we used to beat the Niners defense with. If we could put up 30 with Goff I am sure we can do it again with nice results. In that game it was heavy use of Higbee but it doesn't matter who the target is as long as we force the defense one way and roll the QB the other while providing a blocker in front for their counter rush.

Obviously the O line has to step up big time. And we have to limit big plays defensively. KC did a good job today of making them string together these really long drives that eventually stalled out in the red zone. More times Jimmy has to drop back the more likely he’s going to make a bad decision. We can’t have these Deebo gash plays that go for 48 yards.

Wow - Spags is really making a name for himself. I heard one announcer say he is one of The Best DC in NFL History. His track record could be building.

KC’s TE is amazing!! Saw a Gronk commercial & thought wow. Tom Brady sure misses him when Tampa Bay Buc’s we’re losing 17~3. Then lost 17-3. Speaking of Higbee. Kittle is a beast.

Hate to say it but this cmc or what ever anyone wants to call SF’s RB?
This guy is only going to get better?
Not sure who Shanny’s OC is this season though.
Keep running him & Lance up the middle though.

I fear that with the Niners losing two straight and below .500, they will be more motivated to NOT lose 3-straight. Their backs will be against the wall and will come out with intensity. I will be surprised if we match their intensity and win. For some reason, they find a way to step up against the Rams. Sigh.

Hopefully 49'er overconfidence will cause them several turnovers. :clinkingbeer:
