No matter what, sounds like we're carrying (3) QB's on the roster -- there's no way that either Bennett or Simpson make it past waivers.
Didn't we keep (2) QB's last season? and the year before that?
It's gonna be a tough, tough cut down day this year....
Nobody gonna sign Bennett if he gets cut. Not saying they will cut him but if they do he’d easily make it to the PS

Does anyone know when we should find out if Nacua or Jackson is suspended? I wish they would just announce it already.

Believe the NFL informs the team, player and player rep of a suspension prior to an official announcement.

Simpson keeps progressing, does Bennett become tradebait?
Doubt it. They'll cut Bennett if he doesn't beat Simpson out. If it's close Bennett will probably get cut too, because it's reasonable to expect the kid to improve as the season goes on.

Bennett's only hope is to dunk on Simpson's ass in that QB2 battle. He's not only playing for the QB2 role, but also for his own employment status if he gets cut. Though I do think he'll be added to the PS once he clears waivers.

To make the team, Bennett doesnt even have to prove he's worthy of potentially starting in Stafford's absence. He just needs to be able to make the throws in practice with the 1st/2nd teamers so they can limit Stafford's exposure. That's it. If he doesnt have enough of a grasp of the offense after 4 years to at least do that, he'd have to be cut. Articles like this however give hope that he's got enough of a grasp to be the #2

Plenty.
Performance reports from practice are underwhelming.

That he's underwhelming is certainly a valid opinion. I'm seeing that he's had some up and down moments, but more importantly, I see where McVay has said his improvement from last year is night and day.

If you're using practice reports as your evidence, then you're also obligated to take their reports that it's not much of a competition between QB2 and QB3 so far. #2 is clearly Bennett.

Maybe your question/wondering more pertains to if they'll cut Bennett and bring in a vet?

Just a thought here. If Bennett TRULY has the QB2 spot locked up, if past pre-seasons are any indication, he wont be playing at all in games and we should be seeing a SHIT-TON of Simpson in these games??? Thats pretty exciting. Maybe an exception is made and Stetson gets preseason time? Guess we'll see......

Yeah they probably will do better than my exaggerated average of 13 points a game but I still feel we may have a rough time averaging 20 points.

Some of the teams on our schedule have really good defenses.

I could see scoring only 13 against some of those teams with Bennett as QB.

For example - we only scored 14 points against Houston last year and we had a healthy offense against them.
With a QB that had missed most of, if not all of, training camp.

That's true but the two best defenses in the NFL last season were the Seahawks and Texans.
