To go a bit further on the post above watch Boston's interview. I always look up interviews of these players to try to get a feel for the personality. It's still not an accurate way to get to know them, but at least it provides some insight. But if you watch Boston's demeanor in the interview he is intelligent and actually interacted with the press in a completely different way than what you saw with Lemon.

So you have a player that I think is a similar grade to Lemon who has the right stuff on the personality side that I like to see, plus he's also moreso what we need in this offense for the 2026 run, where he can expand our attack vs easy draws and add something we didn't have prior. Now Lemon can also go get a ball when it's in the air. But Boston is a significantly sized wideout and he's also going to be a hell of a pro. He's the real deal.

Way I see the early going there's a real risk Boston goes off that board before 13.
I just realized he is David Boston's son. Good pedigree all though David got a little weird towards end of his career and was like full on steroid looking size wise his last couple of years and could barely move. Plus a few run ins with the law. Not that that would have any relation to how his son acts per say.

Pick
13

Los Angeles Rams
(via ATL)

Makai Lemon
USC · WR · Junior
The Rams could look for a safety or cornerback here, but adding more firepower to the receiving corps makes good roster sense, especially with 33-year-old Davante Adams in the final year of his contract.

Pick
29

Los Angeles Rams

Avieon Terrell
Clemson · CB · Junior
Terrell is a sticky man-cover corner with the ability to irritate the catch point as a true nickel who can swing outside in a pinch.

The homer in me hopes it's not Terrell, there are better guys for our needs IMO.

Won't hear me complaining with this one.

If there is any way in the world to get RB Jeremiah Love via picks 13 and 29, i say DO it. Rare talent. Horrified of the Cardinals taking him.

Sounds like he's got that "hood" in him. Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I say that because I actually grew up "in the hood" lol
I mean, the kid is saying the right things, isn’t he? He’s willing to fight for his spot, won’t back down, is expecting to be challenged but is not intimidated by it. I don’t have a problem with that attitude, but you’re right, there’s a vernacular there that translates to a certain culture; but it is so grammatically offensive that I find it hard to listen to without thinking, “pass.”

Does our education system really pass a kid through college who speaks like that?

Guess I’m just old. I’m probably being way too hard on the guy.

Honestly these schools don't care if these kids get an education. They are happy if they keep their football programs doing well as thats their money maker. I'm sure there's more than a handful of kids that take bullshit classes that equate to nothing tangible in life. Pretty sad as I took advantage of any opportunity to learn because as corny as it sounds, it's extremely true that knowledge is power.

Nickel corners don't go off the board at 13. Also there are better options in this class than him for our needs outside the hash. So any flexibility he has isn't really part of the equation for the Rams. I think this is a case of the mocker being lazy.

Rams are very unlikely to see him that high as a value. I'd be very surprised.

Yeah, he seems like a Ram type of player. Smart, plays hard, has the measurables and game day performance.
He has been my #2 WR quite a while.
I will say though as many already have, this class looks loaded

In that draft Styles goes 10 overall which I think is absurd. If he were to even sniff 10 Rams would be all over it.

They can get the wideout later no problem in this draft. And there are ILBs later too, yes, but adding Styles to the middle of this defense would be something they'd jump for I think.

Like maybe 30% of the general student population does?

So does Makai Lemon's weird as hell Draft interviews scare anyone off from him? Seems like a red flag for an organization like ours that values character and not being a weird fuck over talent at times.
I've got a different perspective on what the Rams value. I don't think it's just character. Whenever Snead and McVay talk about a guy fitting our culture, they mention "loves football", or "passionate about football", or some variation about that. Based on that criteria, I don't think we can judge his character from the Rams standpoint.

I have come to the realization that after the top 4 or 5 guys, there will not be a huge difference between a player who will will be there at 13, vs players that will be there at pick 30 or even 45.

Makes me think you either move up to that top 5 or you trade back. Of course it might be tough to trade back if other teams feel that same way. However, there is one position where there will be a significant difference between the caliber of players at 13 or say pick 20. That is OT, and maybe even OG, if a team really likes Ioane.

So an OL needy team like Detroit or the Chargers or Houston, those teams may want to move up for one of those top guys.

If so I move back get an extra top 80 pick, maybe an extra later round pick too. Maybe trade down twice. Get more swings to get more players. They may have to mortgage next yrs draft for a QB, so get quantity & quality by loading up on day 2 picks this year in a deep draft, but a draft that lacks blue chip guys.
