We’re still 60 picks away from picking. All these guys that you want still in the board - they will all be gone by the time we pick.

Man y’all are some masochistic group!
You ain't lying...but I admittedly can't help it even as I came into today (and yesterday) with continually lowered expectations.

Hags pick a guard that wasn't on my radar. Iowa kid, but short arms and not much athleticism.

Haven't heard diva issues with BTJ, and a lot of the "quit" could be injuries; he was injured all last year and didn't produce like he's capable of.

Pickens is far more talented, but also far more mercurial and when Pittsburgh and Dallas, two teams that don't mind divas at receiver, both quit on you, that's an enormous red flag.

I don’t know that either team “quit” on him. Pitt traded him to Dallas and Dallas just gave him the franchise tag.

Obviously Pickens is better. But he’ll costs way more and needs a contract.

BTJ is younger and is a better compliment style wise to Puka, Adams, TEs, etc

I just don’t know why a contending Jags would give up on him. That’s a concern.

Tomlin was pissed that Pickens didn't block on a potential touchdown play and he was dealt shortly after. Dallas gave him the tag, true, but not a giant contract like he could've had after this year, and they're actively trying to trade him, according to numerous rumors.

Zakee Wheatley goes to Carolina and Justin Joly (TE) to the Broncos. Both good picks.

Praying it's not Pickens. He's everything that our receivers aren't; he refuses to block for his teammates, he's a mercurial, tantrum-throwing diva, and while he's extremely talented, he wore his welcome out in Pittsburgh and now Dallas doesn't want him.
I'd welcome Pickens. Our WR core would be undefendable. I trust McVay with "difficult" players. He's been able to reign them in during prior years so he's proven himself in that arena.

Relax... I think you have to step back and look at the big picture. The Rams wont trade away 27' picks at this point. They probably feel they need to keep a full war chest of picks so they have an opportunity to add someone at the trade deadline if needed or a training camp trade like they did with Dotson. It didn't work last year, but it certainly did in 21' with Miller and again Dotson and even Corbet are other examples. So why trade a pick for another mid to late round pick at this point who likely won't be a factor in 26'? Keep them, and if it looks like you can add a guy in September or October, then you have picks available to do so.

Or he'd be Marcus Peters all over again, only at wide receiver, and wear out his welcome with McVay very quickly, and thus, wear out his welcome with a third team.

He's dealt with difficult players, but even OBJ wasn't as much a diva as Pickens is, and he at least blocked for his team, which Pickens doesn't.

EDIT: Green Bay takes Jager Burton. Solid pick whom I was hoping would last to the sixth. Pity.

Dallas has a lot of players to pay - and it may just be that Pickens played himself into more of a contract than they have room for. The franchise tag - as you know - is not cheap and it is not something that you put on a player you are quitting on. Pickens was very very good last year. He isn’t in line for the Walter Payton man of the year any time soon but the kid can play.

Pickens was one of the best receivers in the NFL last year, and Dallas still hasn't given him more than a franchise tag (and they have a lot less players to pay with Parsons gone), and there are rumors that they're actively trying to trade him. I don't see any positives with trading a first or second for Pickens; the guy is a mercurial diva, and I don't think he's even close to fitting what McVay envisions with his receivers, else Desean Jackson (and Marcus Peters, for that matter) would've been kept on the team.

Admirable if a bit insane of you all to stay watching and worrying about players going before us. But we have a 107 pick gap so it's been fun getting stuff done between them :D

Oooh, Lions picked Keith Abney II. Excellent pick; lots of publications had him listed as a potential second.

Something I found interesting last night from McVay regarding center. When talking about Trost and his multiple position flexiblity and can maybe do center if needed. He then said something like: but at center we have depth there already.

I thought for sure we’d drat a center somewhere between rounds 3-7 for next year. But maybe we have our future center in the roster already. Maybe Limmer is still in their plans; or someone else on PS.

I have faith in McVay to vet if Pickens is a fit or not. I'll leave it up to him and Snead. Not advocating for the trade by the way.

I think Avila can play center if needed still right? To the extent the mission is to put your best 5 guys out there somewhere - that may have been what he meant?
