I will say this, if not for the Rams QB situation now it would be a horrible pick. Simpson having to start this year would be a disaster.

I’m not upset that we picked him. I’m upset because there’s a real possibility we could’ve easily had him elsewhere than #13.

I don't think anybody didn't like Stafford -- the primary complaint was the price.

Fair enough. Most fans HATED the price paid. And at the time of the trade, most Rams fans didn't know much about Stafford, and sure as hell didn't think he'd bring us a SB win his first year. Stafford was underrated by Rams fans at the time of the trade, no doubt about it. Nobody was speaking of him in reverential tones like we do now.

Trust me-- I remember that Stafford trade thread, and a LOT of posters would gladly eat crow about their initial takes on the trade.

I like having a successor in the building, and a guy who is a perfect fit for the offense, who has a great mind and is a quick processor. Now he gets to sit and learn behind a HOF QB, who will help him, and a HC who is a great offensive mind.

It's worth the gamble. In a deep WR draft go get a guy in rd 2. Add an edge in rd 3. Then shot gun OL depth on day 3. Hopefully they can add an extra 4th or 5th with a trade down from 93 or a player trade or future draft pick trade.

True, Alaric developed nicely and you usually develop All Pro Tackles, not draft them. Our backups must be much better than they looked last year. I sure as hell hope so.

Best case scenario i think. I need to look more into Simpson to see what he's got.

When he looked good he was on par with Mendoza but his team was terrably inconsistent from a bad run game and poor run blocking , less than usual receiver production and inconsistent OL play outside of Proctor.

Maybe now you cough up another 27' pick for this draft to win now. You don't have to worry about QB in 27'. So maybe move a #2 in 27' to get an early 3rd or to move up from 93 to late rd2.

If you listen to many draft guys, he looked better than Mendoza through the first 7 or 8 weeks.
