Dinged up? A bulging disc is not "dinged up". A cracked rib from an undersized corner and not being able to play through it (had to be replaced by his backup afterward) is not "dinged up". Losing weight from gastritis is not "dinged up".

It's a history. It's an extensive injury history in the only season he played in. And his frame is slight. His weight already thin for the NFL.
He checked in at 6'1" 211 at the Combine. That's perfectly fine for the NFL. How many games did he miss this year?

Amazing how many folks on here are smarter than MCVay, huh?
I’m certainly not smarter than McSnead. I just thought others would be better for Super Bowl run. But who knows - he may fill in for Stafford - if injured - during the year and be a cog in a SB machine.
Need Stafford to rework his contract and let us get some extensions and get a free agent LB like Matt Milano, Isaiah Simmons or Willie Gay.

A few points:

1. A year ago, when we made the Falcons trade, the majority opinion on this board was, "Now we can take our QB of the future with Atlanta's pick." Rams are gonna be Super Bowl contenders for the foreseeable future. Gonna be a LONG time before we get another chance at a rookie franchise QB this high in the draft.

2. Simpson's tape in the first half of the year was at times freaking amazing. Pocket was collapsing all around him and he still made pinpoint throws.

3. McVay "fell in love with his tape." Clearly Simpson has a great football IQ.

4. Simpson's play fell off in the second half of the season. The Rams must think a lingering injury was a big factor in that.

Most of the time.... whenever I'm disappointed with a Rams decision, I look at the tape and I'm won over. I bet this will be the case with Simpson.

Our draft pick was All Pro CB Trent McDuffie and everyone was happy about that.
So the 1st round instant grade gets a "C" grade at worst.

I bet the Rams kinda liked his play falling off. Worked out.

Take it up with Sean/Les......

I really hope that this pick doesn’t signal that there is something going on with Stafford injury wise, where a decline in performance would be imminent…

That’s all I have to say about this pick..
