Why? McCarthy was picked to be the immediate starter and he sucks
This is the polar opposite
It's easy to say he sucks now. But McConnell was the qb whisperer remember? All I heard was "If anyone can make it work, it's the McConnell offense"

I've always been a supporter of Les Snead mostly because he finds ways to make trades, but his decisions with high-value draft picks at times been downright stupid more often than not. Sean Mannion. Gerald Everett. Brian Allen. Van Jefferson. Josh Noteboom. TuTu Atwell. Logan Bruss. I wasn't happy with the Terrance Ferguson pick either.

Treating this selection as a luxury instead of an opportunity for a building block is inexcusable. Simpson likely would have been available with the 29th overall pick that was traded for McDuffie. Simpson is in an ideal situation for him and Les really likes him, but I swear, if it doesn't work out. I want Les fired. This is the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I knew the organization liked him, but it looks like it's Snead leading the charge as the top advocate. Yeah, I know people like Simpson's footwork and IQ but his arm isn't impressive to me but good enough I guess. Another knock is that he's a bit undersized not just height-wise but Schraeger was saying GMs are concerned about his build being able to withstand the NFL game.

Monroe Freeling is my favorite player in the draft, but I didn't think the Rams would seriously consider him. Bain was the best player available and we just gifted him to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I wasn't fond of taking Lemon either because I feel Omar Cooper, Jr. is the more dynamic player, but either one of those prospects were more appealing.

I get that it was hard to trade down, but there should have been opportunities with Detroit and other teams given what was still available. I'm in utter disbelief.

This is a complete squandering of a great opportunity. That's the problem with this win-now mentality. Snead took things for granted and didn't take this draft seriously enough. Disgusting.
