This would be the biggest fucking Browns move ever. Trade for a WR who was already overpaid and has a blown out knee. They better not give Whiners shit for this and be only a salary dump to the Browns.

This is why bad teams stay lousy. MTL draft picks would be involved. Aside from my disdain for the 9ers and ayuck, why would a team in salary cap hell want to take on that contract while giving up draft picks? They should be doing the opposite.
See Rams after the ‘22 season.

Hey I could be wrong but history just shows they don't care to invest high dollars nor high draft picks for that position. I'm betting if we look at where we take LBs since McVay has been coach, it would show that is indeed the case.
Well, last year Barkley single-handedly beat them twice, one of those games ended their season.

The Eagles never paid LBs before, but now just re-signed Baun for $18M per yr. They never paid RB's before, but last year signed Barkley and now just gave him another extension. So as the NFL changes, team's calculations and approach change. We will see if the Rams approach has changed.

It’s fun to think of this as an ego move. Ego move? Yeah someone up there wanted Mac over Trey and was overruled. Now Shanny, I mean someone, is going to make Mac into an actual NFL starter and swing a vicious “I told you so” bat at everyone up there.
I do wonder if this complicates Purdy's contract negotiations

I think the Rams have already addressed the need for a run stopping D lineman in Poona Ford. Finding a run thumping LB doesn't require using a high draft pick. They already visited one in Danny Stutsman and he definitely isn't going that high.

Agreed. They just don't value the position. There's guys in round 3 who can do what the Rams want linebackers to do.
Yeah I love the idea of addressing it round 3. But this is Shula's first big draft now that he's settled in as the DC and he's not one of these guys who sources from the DB rooms. So it is possible he values the ILBs more than we have in the past.

Also I am tired of watching the Shitters find ILBs round 3 range. Would be nice to see the Rams do that and this draft has some good options.

I just don't see us using high draft capital on a LB. Doesn't seem like this FO's MO
Maybe, as the league is starting to shift back to running the ball a bit more, or at least the top teams are, the Rams will shift their drafting priorities.

This is my hope at least. I’d be happy with Jihaad Campbell or a Demetrius Knight taken as the Rams first pick.

We're a better DL room with Ford replacing Brown, who had a tendency to give us about a half a season of hard work. Ford has a good motor. But I would like to see a rotational snot bubblin fatass with an ability to anchor in vs the run for keeping these boys fresh vs the big lines like that of Philly.

I feel we have to go ILB by the 3rd round because heaven forbid Speights gets injured.

Then who would be the starter?

And don't you dare say Reeder!!!!!!

Trust me, I'm not opposed to any position as long as its a blue chip player (no kickers, punters, amd long snappers don't count lol). I just don't personally see them doing it.

I'm with you there and I don't think they're done adding to that D line

I agree. I hope they sign some depth, not named Reeder. But I fully expect that’s the guy they sign.

I’d like an upgrade or two at least. Gallimore and Murchison don’t move the needle much

No idea but there would be some good competition with Speights in year two vs a drafted hardass and that's a major positive for us at ILB.
