I'd have rather kept Roseboom. He played MUCH better after Speights started and he is at least a solid back up MLB. Hoping to see Reeder get signed, I'm still scared of us retaining him.
Nah get rid of both. They are definitely replaceable and probably easier to exceed. Rama need to aim higher there.

Always liked CJ, worth a look anyway. If the price is right and he has anything left it would be a great add

CJ Mosley was just released. This is your time Les!
I was just about to post some thoughts on Mosley. Hope you don't mind if I piggy-back on your post.

If you do mind ... Bite Me!

I should preface these thoughts with some simple facts.
This is my first post this off-season about a player I would love to see the Rams add. In prior off-seasons,
I have a perfect record with such predictions ... I have never gotten one correct! Seriously, not once.

Still, C.J. Mosley seems like an ideal fit. A big improvement at a position of need, who can provide significant leadership on a very young defense.

Living in NYC, I have watched a lot of Mosley in recent seasons. He had three very productive years from 2021-2023 (averaged 160 combined tackles/assists, playing 99% of the defensive snaps, playing 50-of-51 games) before missing most of this past season due to toe and neck injuries. The neck injury was a herniated disk.

Not the player he was but still very good ... If Healthy. Will turn 33 in June but this guy is a smart, physical, tough, athletic leader. Think Bobby Wagner, who was 32 when he played for the Rams. Mosley has made $84M in his career; and played for good teams in Baltimore and bad ones in NY.

Maybe he won't be most focused on $; and want to have a chance to win a Lombardi.

Mosley would have also over-lapped with the Rams' new Pass-Rush Coordinator Drew Wilkins in Baltimore.

If the medicals checked-out (HUGE IF), I would love for the Rams to sign him.

So the Rams current MLBs on the roster are: Speights (starter), Hummel (depth) and that’s it? Interesting

CJ was great but that was years ago. Can't stay healthy can't stay on the field and has lost a couple steps. I get wanting someone who was once great but he's no longer that guy. Gimme a rookie IMO.
The medicals would absolutely HAVE to check-out; and a herniated disk is a big deal ... but C.J. Mosley played 50 out of 51 games from 2021 through 2023.

Personally don't care if the medicals do check out. I'd rather a rookie unless he wants to coach then sure hire him.

Forgetting Elias Neal and Tony Fields, but yeah. I have to imagine linebacker is a pick or two.

I would be OK with an off-ball-LB at pick #'s 26, 90 or 101 but that would be against-the-grain for the Rams ... Ernest Jones being an exception. Plus, there are other needs that could be addressed.

I usually, don't want older players, with their best football behind them ... especially if injuries are a factor. However, there are exceptions, and this guy has been special.

I think Hummel is also an unrestricted free agent ... unless he got a tender offer, which I don't believe he did.

Wow, I thought we had Hummel next season. Damn, the cupboard is BARE. Wish they would sign someone at the position to give more freedom in the draft. Otherwise, is Campbell a huge possibility?

Just signed with the Ravens
Hummel and Ronnie Rivers were the Rams only Restricted free agents but, without tender offers, they would have become unrestricted free agents.

Unlike Alaric Jackson and (I believe) Michael Hoecht last year, neither Hummel or Rives would have warranted a tender offer ... like Rozeboom last off-season, who later re-signed with the Rams.

He absolutely was special. Was no longer is he couldn't stay on the field and when he was replaced he was massively out played from before he got hurt. And an ILB doesn't have to be our top 3 picks you know that.

Haha you had more useful info than me !

Get ready to learn Troy Reeder buddy because the Rams treat LB and CB like a bargain bin.
