Was no longer is he couldn't stay on the field and when he was replaced he was massively out played from before he got hurt.

He was 2nd Team All Pro in 2022; and had 158 combined tackles in 2023 ... played every game both seasons.

Before this past season, Mosley was both Durable and Productive for the Jets.

2024 was awful ... four games and injuries, including a herniated neck.
Jamien Sherwood was outstanding last year but Mosley kept him on the bench from 2021-2023.

A soon to be 33 year old coming off a big back injury. All the power to you if you want him but we've seen this story too many times to not heed the past.

As with yesterday's discussion on Shelton, we are not that far apart.
I am only interested IF Mosley's health checks out.

And I'd rather not sign him even if they do check out. Add to all my other comments on it this very well could be his last contract. That smacks of two things going home to his first team or going for the biggest payday available no matter the team to get what he can. Even if the medicals check out doesn't mean he plays out the year. Again I just don't think it's worth the risk and we've spent a great deal of our available cap already.

So the Rams current MLBs on the roster are: Speights (starter), Hummel (depth) and that’s it? Interesting
Well keep in mind, it doesn't mean the Rams will draft a ILB as we got Speights as an undrafted FA. I imagine that a position being bare could attract a more highly touted undrafted ILB just based on opportunity alone.

If Jihaad is there at 26... we need to take him. If we don't take him at #26, there are a couple of guys you could draft in the 3rd who could start right away for us like Stussman or Dumas-johnson...

We have some solid options for the draft at ILB

I just don't see us using high draft capital on a LB. Doesn't seem like this FO's MO
It's actually a cheap investment cap wise. 5 yrs locked in for late rd 1 money. If he is special, it's a bargain.

And he is not just a run stopper. He's an excellent blitzer who can impact the passing game.

Wow, I thought we had Hummel next season. Damn, the cupboard is BARE. Wish they would sign someone at the position to give more freedom in the draft. Otherwise, is Campbell a huge possibility?
Doubt it. Even with a bare cupboard they probably don't go LB that early, they don't value them enough. But they will draft one or two just don't count on it super early.

An even cheaper investment is a late round pick or a UDFA.

I keep joking about UDFAs at LB but I was struck by @Allen2McVay post the other day that all 7 ILBs on last year's roster were UDFAs. So hopefully it's a joke but maybe not.

I would be amazed if they look at ILB’s prior to the 4th rd. I see it being much more likely with one or 2 of our 6th rd picks.

Hey I could be wrong but history just shows they don't care to invest high dollars nor high draft picks for that position. I'm betting if we look at where we take LBs since McVay has been coach, it would show that is indeed the case.
