Gay wasn’t a free agent until ‘23If they knew they weren’t going to sign Gay, then keeping him on the PS would have been good.
But maybe they had no idea what Gay would be offered. I don’t recall if the Rams even tried to keep him.
He's hurt more than Tyron SmithDavid Bakhitiari anyone? Can't imagine he costs much. Just an idea lol
Seems like it resulted in some really short punts the week prior. We might see him resort to a more conventional punt to manage the risk during the regular season.I noticed the way he was dropping the ball was different. I think he is actually punting the tip of the football.
Not to rely on as a starter, but to buy us time to get our real starters back and in the case our tackles don't do well or Noteboom gets hurt. Pickings are great at this time of year so that's the only reason I threw his name out there. Could care less if the Rams were like no thank you lolHe's hurt more than Tyron Smith
Too late for that now. The season kicks off us a week from tomorrow. No way to get anyone up to speed in that time that hasn't been here already. Not to rely on as a starter, but to buy us time to get our real starters back and in the case our tackles don't do well or Noteboom gets hurt. Gotta admit AJax’s injury followed by the 2 game suspension has got to have put him on McVays watch list. Looks like McVay ain’t putting up with any shit this year.David Bakhitiari anyone? Can't imagine he costs much. Just an idea lol
Can he give us 2 or 3 games? If so then he would be a great one year additionHe's hurt more than Tyron Smith
In the last 3 years he's played 1, 11 and 1 game. So 2 might be pushing it.Can he give us 2 or 3 games? If so then he would be a great one year addition
That said, I am more worried about the depth at corner despite being impressed with Wallace who can be called up if needed
Wallace is on the 53, and might be the 4th CB at the moment. Can he give us 2 or 3 games? If so then he would be a great one year addition

He will get signed after week one because after week one you don't have to guarantee a vets salary for the year. So I would expect him to be signed by someone after that. Not to rely on as a starter, but to buy us time to get our real starters back and in the case our tackles don't do well or Noteboom gets hurt. Oh no not this misconception again. I thought we'd moved on from it.He will get signed after week one because after week one you don't have to guarantee a vets salary for the year. So I would expect him to be signed by someone after that.
Even so, how much risk is there with a one-year contract based on medical advise?Oh no not this misconception again. I thought we'd moved on from it.
He's played 1, 11 and 1 game in the last 3 seasons. And from a very good friend of mine that is a Packers fan he's "done" he's not good anymore. From somebody who has his jersey saying he's done I'll pass but that's just me. We'll see what the Rams want.Even so, how much risk is there with a one-year contract based on medical advise?
A one-year vet-minimum salary is very little risk. However, according to Spotrac and OTC, David Bakhtiari has made between $122M-$126M in his career. He will have to REALLY LOVE playing football to sign for the veteran-minimum. Possible but my guess is he would want a decent base, with incentives.Even so, how much risk is there with a one-year contract based on medical advise?
Yeah, he isn't signing for 1 million. He would want 3-5M minimum. Why give it to him and have him play 3 games and then he is out and it's guaranteed.A one-year vet-minimum salary is very little risk. Its never too lateToo late for that now. The season kicks off us a week from tomorrow. No way to get anyone up to speed in that time that hasn't been here already.
No guarantee that happens but just his injury history is definitely something to be concerned aboutYeah, he isn't signing for 1 million. He would want 3-5M minimum. Why give it to him and have him play 3 games and then he is out and it's guaranteed.
What misconception is that?Oh no not this misconception again. I thought we'd moved on from it.
That if you sign a vet of 4 years or more his full contract becomes guaranteed if you cut him after week one. There is an option in the CBA that you can sign that kind of contract for basic bookkeeping purposes. You spread his cap hit over a couple of years and if you cut him you void that benefit and pay it all up front. I forget who it was but somebody was saying all vet contracts are that way and that's simply not true. What misconception is that?
