Harbaugh had success at Stanford. He relied on cheating to finally have success at Michigan. He walked into a totally stacked defense in San Francisco and installed a new offensive scheme that flummoxed the league for a year or two. After all of that he was asked to leave. I think most of Jim Harbaugh’s NfL success is very debatable.
Cheating :eyeroll:

It looks as though the Falcon locked themselves into at least 2 years of Cousins. Unless they pay him to sit for one.

The one report that I heard was the Falcons lured Cousins to Atlanta by promising him a four year commitment as a starter. He wanted to stay in Minnesota but didn't like it when they told him that they would be drafting a QB. O'Connell wanted Kirk to stay.

So, the Vikings were up front and honest, while the Falcons flat out lied. If I was Cousins I'd be pissed. If, he's being replaced in a year or two he likely just stays in Minnesota or considers other offers from other teams. They didn't tell him that they were drafting a QB. That's bad business.
I don’t think the falcons were planning on drafting a QB when they signed cousins, but that's coming from the organization. I don’t think cousins will find comfort in that, and now the extra drama just might be the anchor that keeps the falcons from moving forward.

I wonder how Morris feels about this.

I wonder if he had much say on the pick in the 1st round.

To be honest - I do not know if Harbaugh cheated or not.

All I know is the NCAA sucks when it comes to their investigations.

They did not find one factual statement that USC knew about Bush but since USC wasn't helping in the investigation, they decided to punish USC with circumstantial evidence based on a supposed phone call between Bush's agent and the RB coach. Supposedly the agent told the RB coach before the Rose Bowl game that Bush's parents were getting free rent on a house in Lake Elsinore.

Still pisses me off to this day that USC got the near death penalty from the NCAA for that.

Edit - the USC running back coach sued the NCAA for defamation of character but the NCAA paid the RB coach out of court. I was so hoping I would hear the truth if it went to court.

Cousins doesn't give a fuck. He's always been about the money. The falcons are giving him $100m for 2 years service. Then he can do what he truly excels at, getting the next contact which will be way above his talent level.

In one podcast they said part of why the GM favored Morris was that Morris supposedly agreed to let the GM make the picks without interference.

I don’t know. That sounds like the GM is on a power trip if true.

The NCAA usually has shaky reasoning to do things. In recent years, when challenged in court, they lost. Now they have no teeth.

I know a Raider fan who all ready to get a jersey with the name "Big Penix Energy" on the back of it.

TBH, probably. Probably didn't have a full scale operation going on like other programs have. Regardless if Harbaugh knew or not the ax always come down on the head individual.

As you stated as well, the NCAA outside of being corrupt and as inadequate as our government is almost as bad as the Big Ten is. The Big Ten's evidence was a phone call with Athletic Directors to be forced into a decision.

Nevertheless evidence and former coaches of other Big 10 schools have come forward and stated they participated in Michigan sign stealing, and conspired with other individuals from other schools to create shared spreadsheets to work together for said signs.

This all being said it is well known sign stealing has been around in NCAA football and was known and informed to me my freshman year at little NMSU for summer for 2 a days in 1998. Think these other huuuuge programs don't actively have staff that handles this?

That POS Ryan Day and his brother initiated all this by contracting his brother who owns a private eye firm in CT which in turn contracted a law firm to slowly release information during the season.

On the flip side of this the Big 10 and NCAA have been irate at Harbaugh since he's been stating that they should of been paying athletes a long ass time ago.

Proof of this?

Harbaugh received the same amount of time of suspension (2 games) for "cheating", as the incapable of critical thinking would say, that he received for buying a kid a cheeseburger. A CHEESEBURGER!!

If that doesn't tell you they were coming after him I don't know what will?

Same as the USC Fiasco you stated.

Okay, fine we broke the rules, investigate properly and come back with hard evidence and we'll accept the punishment. OFC none of that happened and reporters did more of a investigation than those clowns do. smh

But it is what it is.

You have the lazy minded people that will regurgitate and parrot whatever they hear on sports talk media to reconfirm their biases anyway.

p.s. couldn't stop the Wolverines anyway :) Team was f'n stacked with the most draftees invited from a single team and most players drafted from a team in a single season in CFB and NFL history. Also, just run it down their throats!

The Cheeseburger is being blamed but the real violation was it was a recruiting violation and Harbaugh wasn’t permitted to be with the recruit. Michigan fans like to make it all about the cheeseburger to make it seem trivial.

The recruiting violation was that $14 can be a 'BRIBE' to encourage the recruit to attend Michigan versus all the other Universities. :laugh2:

That is definitely worthy of a two game suspension, same as the "cheating" suspension. :eyeroll:

If they added fries to that would that have been a 3 game suspension?

Just to go on a little bit of USC - Carroll was at one of the meetings with the NCAA whereby they were spewing vitriol at USC for not helping in the investigation and Carroll made the decision that day to leave USC knowing the NCAA was going to cripple USC based on no actual evidence. Lots of USC fans are pissed at Carroll for leaving USC due to the sanctions but I'm not. Basically I would have said Fuck the NCAA - I don't need to deal with this bullshit. I am out of here.

Yeah, once the NCAA has it out for you the only real solution is to quit, retire, or go to the NFL if that's an option for you.

For those crying for poor Arthur blank being blind sided with the Penix pick.

Here you go. You can put the tissues away now.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports the Falcons ranked Michael Penix as the 2024 NFL Draft’s second best quarterback.
Caleb Williams was presumably the only QB Atlanta’s front office had ranked above Penix, who the team took with the eighth pick. Fowler said Falcons owner Arthur Blank “loomed large” in the decision to take Penix with a top-10 pick. Blank, per Fowler, “fully endorsed long-term stability at the position, which Kirk Cousins, at age 35, cannot satisfy to the same degree.” After Matt Ryan and Michael Vick ran the Atlanta offense for the better part of two decades, Blank has no interest in a quarterback “carousel,” Fowler said. The strong-armed Penix, 24, should get a fair number of QB1 snaps for the Falcons in this summer’s minicamp and maybe in training camp if Cousins isn’t fully recovered from his 2023 Achilles tear. There remains little chance of Penix starting in 2024.

.
Yeah I don't believe it - just doing damage control because they looked like fools.
