Probably - grumble grumble grumbleHe’s a Chief. They will make up excuses why they didn’t suspend him.
If he was a Ram, I would want him off the team

Agreed. But you know how this stuff works. Would the NFL be quick to remove one of their Golden Boy QB’s weapons thus hindering his shot at another Super Bowl? If they do suspend Rice I suspect he will be back in plenty of time to round into shape for a playoff run.Probably - grumble grumble grumble

Additional tweet from Pelissero:
Key part of the NFL’s findings on the #Falcons: The violations were found to have occurred *during* the two-day negotiating window, not before it opened, e.g. talking to players about flights after they’d (legally) agreed to terms. Hence, less discipline than in some other cases.
I guess I'm a little confused. If it happened during the 2 day window and it was legal, why the penalty?

That's probably it.I'm assuming it's because the travel plans involved the Falcons buying him a ticket... maybe? So technically they essentially paid him money before they could "legally" sign him. It's probably related to IRS tax rules the NFL follows for employees. Any travel fees you pay to an individual who is a potential employee has be given a 1099 for said travel reimbursement... that's just me spit balling. Either way, kinda weak.
