Dodgers signed one of the top Korean players Hyeseong Kim. You never know how their game will translate to the MLB. But there have been some pretty good Korean players in MLB. He'll be playing middle infield likely. A .300+ hitter who won their version of the gold glove. And can steal bases. Might be a good move. Still want Sasaki. That would be the icing on the cake.

So Lux is not longer a Dodger. They trade him to the Reds for a couple prospects. I guess he was the odd man out after signing the Korean star.

Still holding hope for Sasaki. They say the Dodgers and Padres have the best odds of landing him. Some say its a toss up. But if you tell the sources to pick one, most seem to think it will be the Dodgers. I hope they're right. This kid has some electric stuff. 100+ mph fastball to go with a nasty fork ball. Dodgers brass think he could end up the best pitcher in the league. And he'll only be 24 this year.

Specifically, the Dodgers get Mike Sirota, who was a top prospect in 2023, but slid a bit in 2024 before he was drafted, can play center. They also get the Reds pick at #37 and more importantly some money that can be used for Sasaki.

Sirota was a prospect the Dodgers heavily scouted and were very interested in during the draft.

Sasaki is narrowed down to 3 teams according to MLB site. Dodgers, Padres and Blue Jays. Dodgers have a second meeting scheduled. Ken Rosenthal predicts he'll sign with the Dodgers. Another insider predicts the Padres. Both team have a desirable situation. He likes Yu Darvish of the Padres as a friend. Dodgers have two other Japanese stars. And more of a winning tradition.

Reports have said he wants to establish himself as the best pitcher in baseball. That tells me he has a highly competitive edge. What better team to showcase that than the Dodgers? A chance to make the World Series and show the world what he can do.

Not to mention the chaos of the Padres ownership group.

Most people thought Sasaki would ultimately end up with the Dodgers. But San Diego was thought to be a serious contender. Now a report out of MLB says the Padres are no longer in the mix. With only Toronto and LA left it makes the most sense for him to choose LA. A legit contender. Good ownership. Marketing opportunities. I'd be surprised if he chose Toronto.

The rich get richer. Time will tell if he's that good. Friedman thinks he'll end up the best pitcher in baseball at some point.

The ironic part of all the bitching and moaning about the Dodgers signing him is that they had the least amount of money to offer him in international player pool money. He gets a $6.5 million signing bonus from the deal. The Dodgers actually had to sell him on being a Dodger not just pay him the most money.
