These QB salaries are simply out of control. Not to mention the prices for trading for someone now.

There is even more reason now to zag and go without a high paid QB. Have a great coach and assistants - build a great OL and skill weapons. Continue to draft QBs that you feel can play soon and grasp your playbook. Occasionally reach for a high ceiling guy. Use them until they need to get paid big bucks and trade them off (maybe qualify and trade). But keep circling in young QBs in cheap salary ($5-15M) and save that cap space to use elsewhere.

The problem is that there is no in between. Geno Smith and Daniel Jones contracts just screw the pooch. Neither guy gets even half of what they got on an open market.
Lamar and Hurts are both going to be around 25% of the cap. Just insane

So Brad Holmes turned a first round pick into a 7th? That’s the first move he’s made that I don’t like.
Agreed. Horrible. But Swift fell out of favour in Detroit. They probably had less than 0 leverage, and I suspect if they kept him, he would have been benched by the coaching staff, as crazy as that sounds, because they seem to have had enough of him and have now drafted a RB high. He was already being used as RB#3 many games behind Jamaal Williams (now gone) and Reynolds/Jackson...

I'm pretty sure he was a 2nd round pick and they got a 4th next season. And this is his last year of his rookie deal. If they're not gonna extend him what else could they do? He's always injured or can't finish games, apparently.

I guess you are right. If he stays healthy he’ll be a steal. He had 144 yards against the Eagles.

But, I am tired of injured players taking up roster spots, so I get it. Plus I didn’t read about the fourth round pick.

There are some really good free agents available without effecting the comp formula. And the trade market. But with tutu and Jefferson I'd bring in a Landry type or an upside guy like Cephus.
That said plenty of corners Yannick and a few others out there Lionardis next to AD solid but really I'm still eying o-line dudes and not only are there a few like Risner and I believe Wynn but garret Bolles still supposedly available. This team using the draft to reinforce this year opening cap for future having future cash and picks and this can actually be a remodel if there is a phase 2 to this off-season. Adding some fringe players and many good ones available no reason why we can't be on the thick of it.

I think the Rams really need to go out and get a couple of veteran free agents before their roster can be set for the coming season. Specifically, an inside/middle linebacker, a veteran cornerback and an extra arm at quarterback.

They would need to create some additional cap space. The current cap space is a little misleading because the Rams only had 44 players under contract heading into the Draft.

I hope they bring JJ back, but I have my doubts.

Didn’t they retain some of the veteran Olinemen that they picked up midseason? Like Oday Aboushi.

No on Aboushi, Skura or Nsekhe.

The Rams are carrying $74M of Dead-$. Only Tampa has more.

Most teams are under $25M. The Bengals have about $500,000 of Dead-$.

OL is definitely done for camp. If one of the UDFAs really impresses, like let's say the Center, then they can potentially adjust the depth chart by cutting Allen and replacing him with the new guy. But this looks like the group they'll take into camp.

Any adjustments we see from this point are likely to be defense. I mean maybe they consider Wolford returning since he'd be super cheap and knows the offense for camp arm purposes. But for the season QB1&2 are gonna be Stafford & Bennett.

1T is likely. CB possible. In terms of adding exterior vets. And we're gonna be active with early camp cut additions on the waiver wire I would think as well.

Getting rid of Robinson (21.4), Ramsey, (19.6) & Floyd (19.0) is 60 mill of Dead Cap alone

And people talking about getting rid of Boom and Allen creating another almost $22 million combined. That yikes getting bigger.
