I'm adding John Brodie and Dave Wilcox to my list.
(I can't stand anything about them; from their fugly uniforms to that lousy city they call home. They are the epitome of stank....)

As much as I hated them, the LB-corps of Wilcox, Nunley and Vanderbundt was a really strong group.

To be fair, the 49ers did give me some great joy when I was young. After losing in the NFC Championship in 1970 and 1971 to the Cowboys, the Niners blew a 28-13 fourth quarter lead in 1972 to Dallas, losing 30-28.

Almost 50 years later, they blew a double-digit, fourth quarter lead to the Rams in the NFC Championship.

Great Memories ... Thank You 49ers!!

You rarely see Donald NOT have to deal with 2 of those big OL.

Aaron Donald has made me realize how many free stats an edge player can garner over the course of a season compared to the phone booth #99 plays in game in and game out.

And then there is Watt. Doesn't even put his hand on the ground. Many times he isn't on the line of scrimmage. Just looks for a hole like a running back. Stats have never been an accurate a barometer for anything with our comparing context. otherwise it very often is comparing apples to oranges.

We'll have to wait and see whether the Rams are still interested in Burns post-season, he'll be two years removed from when we first showed interest, ... but if they do choose to sign him, that first year (2024) of say a 5 year contract will be relatively CAP friendly. It would be 2025 and beyond before we are likely to feel the true CAP repercussions, and at least one of Donald, Kupp and/or Stafford could be off the 'books' by then.

I don’t think you understand Burns is not getting away from Carolina without any type of picks.

A few first round picks maybe an equivalent of 3 and he's going to cost as much as Bosa.

Unfortunately, I think Corbin is correct (he is much smarter than he looks).

Carolina is in good cap shape for 2023 and 2024. The Panthers can easily Franchise Tag Brian Burns, and then force some draft pick compensation if they trade him.

Make 24 and 25 big cap numbers for Burns and you have 2 years before you have to pay Young.

If he's Franchised tagged I doubt the Rams would continue showing interest in him. Let's see how 2023 plays out, other potential UFA Edge rushers are bound to rise to new heights.

I was watching the final minutes of Texas' big win over Alabama, when I saw TX HC Steve Sarkisian hugging an assistant coach; and I thought ... That looks like a cleaned-up Joe DeCamillis.

Sure enough, the former Rams ST-coach is a Longhorns' assistant coach.
