When you have a #9 as your franchise player no way you can argue differently unless Snead signs a very good veteran healthy starting UFA Interior OL'er. Otherwise, he will have to increase the talent level in the OL or #9 will not survive!

This drafted OL'er must be mature & have plenty of college starting snaps in an NFL-type offense, ready to contribute early in his rookie season.

Now which interior OL'ers can fill this order who might be available with the first selection on the 2nd day of the draft?

RUMOR: Bears’ astronomical asking price in No. 1 NFL Draft pick trade, revealed

Holding the No. 1 overall pick, the Chicago Bears hold all the cards in the 2023 NFL Draft. If a teams wishes to trade for Chicago’s top overall selection, the Bears are reportedly looking for a king’s ransom.

Usually, the top spot is used on a franchise-altering quarterback. However, the Bears already have a young QB in Justin Fields, leading many to believe Chicago will trade the pick. If they do, the top spot certainly won’t come cheap, via Robert Mays of The Athletic.

“The price that I’ve heard from outside the top five is your one this year, a two this year, a 1st in 2024 and a 1st in 2025,” Mays said.

If Fields doesn’t work out… The Bears should have the Ammo to move to #1 next year, but whoever is there likely isn’t trading.

If they could somehow move to #2 or #3 with an offer like that, then trade down again, cha ching.

If we give Morris a pass rush is he able to play tighter coverage or not? Did we not see that last year when they added Von? Evidence seems to suggest it will happen.

My favorite part of draft season, and I'm as guilty as the rest of us are, is thinking we know what McVay and Snead think the roster needs. We see it every year and we're likely to continue seeing it that they have a different take on our roster than us.

I’ve recently re-watched both SB playoff runs and yes, when the Rams had a good pass rush, the DBs played tighter. Look at the 4th down on the bengals’ first drive.

It’s easy to criticize the soft coverage and frustrating to watch, but not only was the Rams pass rush weak last season, but so was their offense. Falling behind early was a risk they didn’t want to take.

Kind of what I mentioned earlier about needing to find future cornerstone players.
My position as well. Nobody “developmental” or “might be”. The Rams need a star. It doesn’t even matter necessarily what position he plays. They just need a guy who starts day one and creates a major impact.

This is the draft the Rams need to start transitioning into the future stars to replace Donald, Stafford, Kupp, etc..

There are going to be future pro bowlers and all pros who came out of round two. The Rams FO has to grab one.

Sounds good but that's so much easier to say than to do.

Donald was a high #1, Stafford cost two #1s, as did Ramsey. Only Kupp was a "Find" in Round 3.

Just as a test, I pulled a recent draft and looked at picks between #36 and #69 (where the Rams may be drafting), looking for Pro Bowlers. There were a few ... Nick Chubb (#35) and Fred Warner (#70) if I slightly expand the range; and Shaq Leonard (#36). That's it for Pro Bowlers. There were about a dozen quality starters.

But that left about 25 players selected between 35-70 who are, at best, average.

I agree, the Rams need to hit on their picks in Rounds 2-4 (should they move down and get a #4) but that has not been a strength in recent drafts.

Not that high on Carter and how he projects. The good news this class in deep in multiple positions and Edge being one of those.
Physically he looks the part just not that impressed with his game.

100% same here. He doesn’t seem as game ready as other guys like a few others projected to be drafted around him. I’m very curious to see how he does at the Pro level.

How? It's telling me this week that Ramsey is barely worth a 1st and anything else.

Their algorithm has drunk the cool-aid and seems to think Ramsey is now worth shit...seems to believe this kind of garbage:

Yeah who knows, top CB’s trades in the past are a mixed bag, however I firmly believe and expect if we do trade him a Revis type of deal. 1st and a second, maybe a 4th to. A lot is going to have to do with the salary and I’d imagine what we’d clear off the books for this next season.

Going to be interesting.

Anthony Richardson, as expected, is impressing at the Combine. He's maybe the most interesting guy in the class. I really don't know what to make of him.

That's kind of why I wanted him. And with Bryce Young being part of the lollipop guild along with Kyler Murray, I bet some team's going to trade up with the Bears to get him. He checks off every physical box. If he's given the right answers to the questions of the teams, I could see him being the number 1 overall pick.

They realize this isn't the Caleb Williams or Arch Manning draft, right? Jesus.

"If you got a great punter you don't need an offense."

Lmao!! I think I heard him preach that in Hard Knocks :laugh2:
Emmanuel Forbes is my kind of corner. Sticky coverage and ball awareness. Being listed as day 2 but of course who fucking knows.

Maybe. He's a boom/bust guy. Could be a yearly MVP candidate. Could also be the next Vince Young. I like the kid as a person, but his mental game is what concerns me. Hopefully, he lands in a spot where they can bring him along in a deliberate manner and have a staff that supports him/maximizes his skillset.

As for Bryce Young, he's basically the same size as Russell Wilson. Size wouldn't deter me from taking him.
