I'd love to add him to the roster, but even coming off of IR with a fractured ankle, I still believe he may be out of our price range.

Not a fan based on the little I have seen. He didn’t have much of a QB but, he seems to get dinged up easily and had a major injury.

If I’m looking at young guys coming off an injury who might go low I’d rather look at Juju. At least he has had big production and he’s an SC guy.

If only it was just the Super Bowl. The guy is really talented so he might turn that around but we can't have a wideout that has a passive mindset when the signal caller is a QB who wants to throw contested balls.
The Super Bowl kind of convinced me that Van is only a true #3 WR. He'll be 26 next year.. there's not a ton of growth to expect. He does some things well, but isn't a guy you can rely on to get open and get a ball in critical situations, imo.

I'm not sure what that means for the makeup of the WR room next season.

Yeah I think Van is not the type of wideout you need with Stafford at QB. Stafford is going to put the ball on him when he's got guys in his face. He's fine as a WR3 I agree. But still at some point I would expect them to be thinking "ok how do we get him some guys who can go for a jump ball when the QB points to the endzone."

If I'm Harris right now... I'm gonna bust my ass this offseason working on hands and focusing the ball in. Because he's got the right frame type just needs to be able to make the plays when the Rams give him another shot this year in camp. Same with Skow. Both big WRs who aren't afraid to get dirty but need to be better with hands to be a part of next year's run.

I am 203 and my doctor constantly says 185-190. It's the song and dance I play once a year at my checkup...lol

It's going to be fascinating to watch this position take shape.
How much has Harris learned? Because he was NOT ready for regular season snaps on offense, at all.
How much can Tutu contribute?
How high of a priority is it to keep KR Powell? If it's high, do they try to incorporate him as a WR?
Can Skow improve his hands? He showed he could run routes and actually get open some in multi-WR sets.. and is a GREAT ST player.

I think they absolutely have to keep Powell and if Atwell doesn’t show something he could end up on the PS. He can’t play teams, he isn’t much faster than Harris and Harris has much better physical attributes.

I'm still wondering if Skow can play tight end. We all know he can block. And if corners are supposed to cover him, can you imagine linebackers or safeties trying to cover him? I don't care what position he plays because I am very high on this kid. It just seems like the Rams are loaded at wide receiver with the big 4 and Harris, Tutu, Powell, Landen Akers, Warren Jackson, and JJ Koski in reserve.

So.. what are people suggesting when they say this?
Do we think that if we just say... "he's a TE," that that will dictate how defenses cover him?

Do we expect him to put on 20 pounds? Why? He's actually a good blocker already.. and I think that would make it hard for him to be a gunner on STs.

I wouldn't use him in the count against TEs.. you already have what you're suggesting he become in Hopkins, imo.

I think people are a bit too tough on Van. I watched his highlights and he has a couple jump balls in there that he wins and a couple where he uses his body to shield off a defender. He does seem to let the ball come to his body but has pretty soft hands. He's a 2nd year player and I'm not sure there are a tremendous number of #3 receivers in their 2nd year that are catching 800 yards worth of passes. Will he improve enough to become a #1? Probably not. But teams need #3 receivers. You can't have all #1s. I remember not too long back, he would have been far and away our best receiver.

One last thing about Ben Skowronek... this kid was a 7th round drat pick and he played a lot this year. He may never be a #1 receiver, or tight end for that matter, but I believe he may grow into a great situational-role player. I can see him being a third-down specialist... always getting that crucial first down, throwing a great block that springs someone, or just making clutch catches every once in a while. He is currently the #4 wideout and will get plenty of chances in the future. Oh, and he's great on special teams.

Skow is a good special teamer. But he has no business playing offense. He can not catch the football. Him being forced to play (not his fault, he was a 7th rounder) almost cost us a Superbowl twice. He dropped a wide open touchdown in the NFC championship. Then he dropped an interception in the superbowl. He had almost as many drops as he had catches. If you are the 4th or 5th wideout not only do you have to play on special teams.. but you have to atleast be able to catch the ball. Nobody expects the depth guy to make big plays.. but you have to be solid.

How can you say he screwed up by not catching the TD pass in the NFC championship, but then turn around and say you don't expect him to make big plays? That was a big play. If he were to catch everything thrown at him it would be more than solid. He's a young depth guy. He's going to drop balls.
