Abram Smith RB Baylor

Overview
Big, tough prospect who went from running back to linebacker and then back to running back during his collegiate career. Smith proved a formidable fit in Baylor's zone scheme with a patient but decisive approach and a natural feel for cutback lanes. He became more comfortable in stretch plays as the season wore on but his average burst and linear running style make it easier for linebackers to find him. He has adequate contact balance and gives as good as he gets as a run finisher. Smith's lack of short-area creativity could make him zone-dependent, but he's a natural in that scheme. He has the upside to become a committee back with three-down potential.
Strengths

• Started playing faster and more instinctively starting around the Oklahoma game in mid-November.
• Understands how to press the line and set up blocks.
• Patient for crease development.
• Above-average feel for cutback timing on inside zone.
• Keeps the track tight off the blocker's hip.
• Runs with linebacker's mentality to finish.
• Plays the role of hammer into contact.
• Size and toughness to work with in pass protection.
• Proved his value as a special-teams cover demon in 2019.

Weaknesses

• Runs with upright posture and a narrow base.
• Struggles to fade early penetration that forces him to brake.
• Much less decisive when early cutback lanes fail to develop.
• Tends to be a one-speed runner with average burst.
• Slight deceleration into open-field cuts.
• Tight-hipped with limited lateral elusiveness in tight quarters.
• Needs better foot slide to mirror the rush in protection.
• Has knee injuries in his background.

Yes, definitely a typo on my end. He's listed at 245 lbs., which considering his 6'6" height, still allows an ability to add some good bulk.

Booker is the kind of depth defensive tackle that teams will like at the next level. While he does have a ton of work to do, the tools are there. Booker’s smarts give him an instant advantage over a lot of rookie tackles. Then, there’s that great athleticism that gives you hope for Booker in the league. Booker will need to put on weight right away when getting into the NFL but doesn’t need too much if teams want to play him as a 3-4 defensive end.
