@scotsrams time is up. Anyone care to proffer a player for Pittsburgh? I’m up next so would prefer not to make a suggestion

With the 209th pick in the ROD draft the Bengals select

Aaron Hansford LB Texas A&M

Overview
Athletic inside linebacker who might require a more attack-oriented scheme that allows him to play faster and with less reservation. Hansford failed to use his 2020 season as a springboard into bigger and better things in 2021. He has speed to range from sideline to sideline and is a fundamentally sound tackler who won't let many slip from his grasp. His blitz potential should not be discounted and he clearly has the traits to become a more robust playmaker. However, the difference between starter and backup will be rooted in whether or not he can do a better job of diagnosing blocking schemes and play with better trigger quickness.
Strengths
  • Has potential to make explosive plays.
  • Athletically gifted with oily hips and smooth change of direction.
  • Good lateral acceleration and agility.
  • Plays with sideline-to-sideline range.
  • Able to cut off angles when stalking outside runs.
  • Power to meet and stop ball-carrier at point of impact.
  • Breaks down into balanced, wrap-up positioning.
  • Flashed major blitz talent in previous seasons.
  • Rockets into backfield with ability to elude blitz pickup.
  • Substantially better with coverage recognition in 2021.
Weaknesses
  • Inconsistent in processing moving pieces.
  • Needs to maintain eye balance between ball and blocker.
  • Lacks recognition of play design and blocking scheme.
  • Below average at finding and fitting against the run.
  • Gets caught in mud behind climbing blocks.
  • Missed all but two games in 2016 and the full 2018 season due to injury.
  • Occasional busts in coverage duties.

OK, Les Snead loves his 6'th round picks, let's see how he spends them today :

Pick #210 = Another development Edge in a guy that runs a 4.36 40 yard dash, and is 6'6", 145 lb. with room to gain some bulk. Welcome AMARE BARNO, Va.Tech

Pick #211 = With Bobby Wagner mentoring Ernest Jones & Travin Howard, adding another interesting ILB to the stable should pretty much fill out our depth at the position. Welcome ILB JACK SANBORN, Wi.

Pick #212 = This next pick came down to 3 different players at 3 different positions, so I hope to get it right and land our future Punter for the next several years. Welcome P JORDAN STOUT from Penn.St.

@dpjax, you are now up

With the 213th pick in the 2022 ROD Mock Draft the Atlanta Falcons select
Calvin Austin III Wide Receiver, Memphis

066C2532-B3A3-4848-8214-247F9B435A23.png

The defining characteristic of Austin’s NFL Draft scouting report is his rare explosiveness and potential energy as a playmaker. Austin is supremely explosive and sudden out of his stance. He’s an effortless accelerator in space, and he generates ample vertical separation with small runways. The Memphis WR can go from 0 to 100 at a moment’s notice.

Expanding on Austin’s explosiveness, he is an incredibly twitchy player. He cuts routes at absurd angles and uses his sudden twitch to manipulate larger defensive backs. He stores a ton of potential energy on any given play and prevents defenders from having any sense of security when guarding him.

Austin’s explosiveness and twitch yield him great creative capacity before the catch, but he is also a very shifty runner after the catch. He can use his fast feet and initial burst to navigate congestion and make defenders miss.

Austin’s athletic profile is incredibly enticing, but his refinement and calculated approach take him a step above the average speed receiver. He has always shown flashes of route-running prowess, but Austin noticeably improved his attention to detail as a technician in 2021.

At the line, Austin can put defenders on a string with his complex, intricate releases. Upon generating displacement, he explodes upfield and uses his speed to press defensive backs vertically, then breaks inside and gains space. Austin’s ability to pressure defenders vertically and break in rapid succession only compounds his unpredictability.

Sorry, I was in tuned out the ER with my boy. Everything’s OK (crazy painful lesson though) thanks for waiting.

With the 215th pick, the Arizona Cardinals select Keaontay Ingram, RB, USC

1650293385542.jpeg

4/9/22: Keaontay Ingram did not see a big workload in 2021, but he flashed some ability and was productive in limited opportunities. On top of running hard, he showed some receiving ability as well. At the combine, Ingram had a quality workout. He has the skill set and upside to be a good mid-round value.

7/3/21: Ingram didn't get into a groove running the ball for Texas in 2020, but he did't play badly. After the season he transferred to USC. In the previous two seasons, Ingram showed that he is a built power back who is also a dangerous receiver out of the backfield. He was a nice outlet receiver for Sam Ehlinger over 2019 and 2018, showing an impressive ability to adjust to passes for a thick build back. If Ingram shows the speed to hit the hole and dominates as a runner in 2021, he could become a rising prospect.

217) Detroit Lions @Tron yer on deck

At work and definitely not making it home till way after time is up, can someone pick a corner/tackle which ever best left. Don't want to hold things up for everyone else.

Vincent Gray, Michigan CB would be a solid option at this point.

I’ll second that
All right then. With the 217th Pick the Lions (for @Tron ) select:

Vincent Gray, Michigan, CB

1177482937.jpg.0.jpg

Strengths

  • Trusts his eyes with very good awareness. Has very good reaction skills to break quickly on the ball.
  • Savvy cover skills to recognize and anticipate routes. Understands what's coming and has good ball skills.
  • Good instincts and anticipation reads and reacts with discipline. Dangerous with the ball in his hands.
  • Aware zone cornerback who is also adept in man coverage, flashing physical hand punch at the line and straight-line speed to stay with receivers downfield.
  • Alert defender for zone coverage, showing good understanding of route progressions occurring behind him and a quick burst downhill to break on underneath passes in front of him.

Weaknesses

  • Will slip off tackles and needs to finish more consistently.
  • Undisciplined, with inconsistent tackling technique, and does a poor job finishing in space. Suspect ball skills and can be eliminated from the play by a single blocker.
  • Lacks elite speed to recover if beaten on double move. Ducks his head and swipes too often on open-field tackles.
  • Lacks the recovery speed to catch receivers if he waits for them to arrive.
  • Has a high backpedal and loses a step in transition. Plays with adequate speed but there are concerns about his ability to handle the truly explosive speedsters of the NFL.
