With pick 78 of the ROD 2022 Mock Draft the Cleveland Browns select

Damone Clark , ILB , LSU

Damone-Clark-LB-LSU.png

Damone Clark was known as a hard-hitting linebacker who was part of two state title teams during his career. He was rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals and rated as the No. 7 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 18 inside linebacker nationally by Rivals. Clark was offered a scholarship from LSU which was an easy option for him to accept as he's from Baton Rouge.

After playing little as a freshman in 2018 Clark saw action in all 15 games, starting three times, and was the full-time starter at outside linebacker in LSU’s base defensive package. He finished sixth on the team in tackles with 50 and added 4.0 tackles for loss with 3.5 sacks.

As a junior in 2020, he appeared in all 10 games, starting five times. Calrk tied for the team lead in tackles with 63 and added 4.0 tackles for 18 yards in losses along with a sack for a 10-yard loss.

Clark took a major step up in 2021 as a senior as he led the SEC and ranked No. 2 in the nation in both tackles (135) and tackles per game (11.2). He also added 6 sacks and 23 total QB pressures. He also vastly improved his coverage production - where on 48 targets only allowed a 75.4 QB rating when targeted. At season's end, he received a Second-team All-America spot from both Walter Camp and Sporting News and finished as a finalist for the Dick Butkus Award.

TRADE ALERT

As per @Riverumbbq

The Chargers & Rams have come to terms on a trade. Chargers Pick #79 (3'rd rd) and Rams pick #104 (3'rd rd) swap draft picks. The Chargers also receive S Taylor Rapp. The Chargers have lost both a S and ILB in free agency, and HC Staley is familiar with Rapp.

With the 79'th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams will take OG/OT Jamaree Salyer, Ga.

The Chargers will now pick at #104.

With Pick #81 of the ROD Draft the Cleveland Browns select ...

Logan Hall , DL , Houston

Hall_Logan_Navy.jpg

Logan Hall is a tone-setter up front. He packs a ton of power into his punch and plays with an attitude on every snap.

In run defense, Hall's heavy hands and strong anchor allow him to take control of blocks early on. His lower-body strength and heavy hands show up just the same in the passing game. Hall has relentless leg drive as a pass-rusher in addition to active, violent hands.

With that said, Hall is not the quickest or bendiest defensive lineman, which could explain why Houston moved him away from the edge after getting him on campus. He is not one to fire through open gaps and immediately blow up the backfield. His height can also occasionally give him some leverage issues when he needs to bend and manipulate his body around blocks.

Hall's best fit will be in a front that moves him around from a 4i/5-tech position on base downs and kicks him inside on passing downs. That should allow his anchor and violent nature to keep linebackers clean on base downs, while using his power and relentless motor to muck things up inside on passing downs.

Hall has the tools to be a cornerstone piece for a defensive line.

With the 84th pick in the draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select:

JALEN TOLBERT, WR, South Alabama.

Suffers from concentration drops and doesn't have elite speed but can line up at any receiver position and had incredible production, setting school records in yards 2 consecutive years.

I like football players and not big names, and this is what this guy is.

Ps - we are getting to that stage of the draft where it is hard to see who has been picked and who hasn't- so apologies if he has gone already and I have missed it.
